Im having some sad feelings about Easter this year, mainly because we cant get together as a family. We have discussed this with our kids and decided that since we cant get together as usual, Easter celebrations will be postponed until all the restrictions are lifted. But one thing we have decided and that concerns our grandkids.
Tomorrow morning we will be doing a drive-through at my sons house since he is the halfway point between us and our daughter. We will each have our turn of depositing Easter Chocos on his car and his and our daughters kids will come and get them. And he will do for his niece and nephew. We will stay in the car and wave and cheer and wish everyone a Happy Easter. Everyone will be keeping their distance. Hopefully no one complains. Frankly in dont see why anyone would since we will not be huddling together or hugging.
In the next few weeks, we have 5 Birthdays to celebrate but that will all be put off until restrictions are lifted and then we will have a MEGA CELEBRATION! Yay. Easter Dinner and 5 Birthday Cakes!!! YUMThis thread is currently associated with: N/A

Oh @SnowFlakey your circumstance seems much sadder than ours ( and believe me I was already upset that there would be no get together meal here) You have grandkids....that part created a lump in my throat for you having to drive by and drop off their chocolate treats.
Then you have the b'days that are upcoming....yep, you have every right to feel a touch sad.
We just have our eldest DS who lives on his own and will not be joining us for the Easter feast we normally do, as well as my sister who also lives alone and usually joins us.
ALL of this is such an adjustment.....on one hand we are really not all that hard done by but things we just took for granted are now missing and mourned.
Try to find your own silver lining despite the Covid-19 virus trampling all over your plans.

Well... I can't visit any of my family or close family friends for Easter, and my Step Sisters Bday is next week, and mine at the begining of May, so once everything settles down with COVID, we're gonna have a super get together celebration thing (My Step Mom thinks things may begin to settle down in late Summerish, so long as the COVIDidiots don't ruin everything)
I know for me personally, one of my coworkers invited me over to celebrate Easter this Saturday while we aren't working. So that will be nice at least to get out of the house even just for the evening.

We are having a Zoom dinner party. My mom lives alone as do my niece and my nephew so while we will totally celebrate when this is over we want to “see” each other. We have already hosted several of these and it’s working fairly well.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

WELL!!!!!!!!! We did our drive-by to sons house this morning in the rain/snow mix! It was so nice seeing everyone again even through it was from far away. You see them on the phone or computer but it isnt the same as in person. I loved it!. We all wished each other a Happy Easter, blew kisses etc and went home. Happy but sad at the same time. I cant wait until this is all over and i can hug my grandkids again with extra special hugs!

This will be the first year without my mother comming to my home for easter dinner. She is in a retirement home in Toronto and they have locked the place down so she has to stay in her room. I told her on the phone the other night that now she knows how i would felt when she would send me to my room when i was a kid and missbehaved

At home with my better half, missing Easter dinner with my mom, my sister and her family for the first time in at least 20-25 years.
