Went to Shopper's drug Mart before eating lunch. Never go shopping when you're hungry! Somehow, many chocolate things found their way into my cart🤔
I cashed in the 60,000 points and got $75 off my groceries. Stocked up on some vitamins that I needed - not impressed with their meager attempt to keep people separated.

Yes, and as I posted also, veggies were cheap at one Loblaws I shopped at 2 weeks ago. This week I went to a different Loblaws where there was a sign saying "There is a currently a shortage of frozen vegetables" and they were selling the same stuff for $3.49. Not sure the managers talk. I certainly don't want to be buying multiple bags, if my friends and neighbours can't buy any!

Whether the store managers talk may well be irrelevant. It seems unlikely that any chain has a way to balance stock across stores that's easier / more practical than each store clearing out its own overstocks.

I think the frozen vegetables was over stock. Usually price go up when the stock goes back to 'normal' levels. Yes, the managers talk. Through head office. Head office tells them when to change the prices. Down and up.

Well I headed out to my store on my night off to pick up a few items (Including meat while it's still cheap)...

    RCSS:
    Chicken Breast (2.094kg): $27.18 - 10%($2.71) + 5,600Pts(200Pts/$1) - PM(T&T; $13.52 OFF) = $5.35 = $1.16/lb
    Lean Ground Beef (1.355kg): $15.53 - 10%($1.55) + 3,000Pts(Inquiry put in) - PM(FB; $7.55 OFF) = $3.43 = $1.15/lb
    Tropicana Tropics (1.75L): $2.98 - PM(NF; $0.98 OFF) - 10%($0.20) - $1.00 = $0.80
    Catelli Pasta Sauce (2): $4.00 - PM(NF; $2.00 OFF) - 10%($0.20) = $1.80/2
    Bartlett Pears (0.925kg): $4.05 - PM(NF; $2.02 OFF) - 10%($0.20) = $1.83
    Strawberries (1lb): $3.98 - PM(FB; $2.31 OFF) - 10%($0.16) = $1.51

Saved $5.04 total with staff and about $28.00 with price matching. Total was $23.30, Redeemed 10,000Pts and paid $13.30 in store, earning back 8,600Pts from my redeem

Went to Maxi to pick up some fruit and checked out the meat counters. Maxi had a several club size pkgs of rib eye steak for under $7 (2 per pkg). They werent discounted either. Dont know if it was a pricing error or what but i took 5 pkgs.

Also Quality Street chocolates in the tin regular price $4.98, sale price 94 cants. Picked up 10 of those.

Don't you love when the clearance carts are full at RCSS? Today, I picked up lots of:

    Paris Pate Deviled Ham Spread (78g) @ $ .14 (regular $1.78)

    Grace Corned Beef (340g) @ $ .94 (regular $4.48)

    GoGo Squeez Apple Berry 4-pack @ $ .94

No Name Chicken Noodle Soup case of 12 cans @ $2.24

variety of bags of candies and treats @ $ .14

All had nice long best before dates. Great for personal shopping and for the food bank!

A trade with the next door neighbors when they said they'd be going shopping this afternoon and asked if we needed anything. We were out of eggs. They refused to let me pay for them, so I gave them two boxes of cereal that their daughter eats. The thing is... I had gotten overage on them a couple of months ago, and they were in my donation stack, so I actually offered more, but they only took two. Then, I got a bonus when they brought back an 18-pack. I hadn't stated a quantity, and was only expecting a dozen.

Problem with price matching at my local RCSS these days is that they are not allowing it at self check-out and the line-ups for cashiers are still long...consequently I have just skipped the price matching and gone for the speed and convenience of self-serve.

Store staff have told me that the last hour or last half hour at some stores are very empty. Might be a good time to shop
    YMMV

I know at least at our store, even when we officially open at 8am it isn't too bad. I will say it is nice to be able to do my shopping during the 7-8am hour. Little to no one out, maybe a dozen in the store.

Realized tonight that 2 of my PCO for the Cracker barrel cheese could not be saved for next week . So I went to RCSS a little while ago and happen to get this amazing cheap cheese after coupons , PCO personal offer and in-store offer
7 bars of the 400g cracker barrel cheese used 7($1.00) coupons

    7x$5.98= $41.86-$7.00 = $34.86-$12.00 ( in-store points)=$22.86-$9.60(personal points)=$13.26
After coupons and PCO points I paid $13.26 for the 7 bars of cheese making them $1.89 each. Was surprised that no one post this deal

Played out very nice for you, too bad you didn't price match at 4.99 each, unless they are not currently price matching.....that's an awesome price per bar...yay
