Local daily paper had an article indicating store owners are advising customers to buy items when they see them in stock as owners might not be able to guarantee re-stock or get more in later.

Thus I think that advice probably extends to winter coats and boots along with other cold weather items. See it, buy it! I should keep an eye out for a box of Xmas cards in October!

Purchased my Christmas cards in January 2020. I have enough for the next 2 years.

Christmas for me those last years is more to buy what I need and give to father or familly all year long than doing christmas gifts. But I still have 4 rolls of Christmas papers to wraps and make gifts just in case...My father know I dont have a lot of spare money ...so he dont want gifts and I never have an idea of what he want so..Christmas for my familly is more about great food and caring for each others

I bought a new fuzzy throw for the couch and both kids want them for Christmas so I best get back to Costco before they sell out.

we usually spend christmas with my in-laws in the states but due to covid we are staying home this year and that means we have to get a christmas tree. I'm looking for a medium sized (4-5 feet) one with pre-lit lights and hopefully after halloween the stores will have trees advertised in their flyers.

Happy to report that I purchased my first Christmas gift for father!!! Not much a surprise for him ,as he was with me ..He was happy!!! I never go to Pharmaprix(QC) sdm BUT I saw this morning that I have an offer to load 20x the points wub 50$ or more...So I purchased 75 ml Lacoste red bottle perfume LA PLAY(his favorite perfume,he was on the last bit of his other bottle) so I made 30 000 pc points and but the perfume costed me ...74$ .. I never go to SDM but with this offer why purchase it at Pharmacie Jean Coutu when I could make points
The only thing that bother me was my father is a senior and was with me because I am the one who was paying the cashier did not want to give the 10% off discount..so technically I lost 10$..my bill was 100$(purchased others things) so frustrating
I did ask for samples of perfumes my father got 3 and I got 1 azzaro wanted girl

My sister laughed at me until last year, because in October I start buying gifts. And then, as she did not have time to buy everything and had to look for other solutions, it was time for me to smile. I manage to buy everything I need without haste and order what I plan. This year I already ordered a set of tools for my husband. I don't understand them, but this review https://homemakerguide.com/best-socket-set/ helped me a lot. If you also want to choose something like that for your husbands or dads, then it is better to read now and choose, and then buy something wrong.

Michael's had Xmas trees in last week's flyer! Don't forget to check out Canadian Tire for any styles of trees with lights too.

Indigo offers private shopping hours before or after regular store hours-you have to book your time at one of the store participating in the program.

And I just noticed that (Indigo) holiday boxed cards are 50% off in-store and online (can also order online for pickup from store) from today until Oct. 18. Think I'll get on the bus soon and see what my local store has to offer, as I don't want to miss out on a box of cards!

Oct.19 Update-I got a box of cards for me (about thank you card size but I like them) and a box of bigger cards for Mom, who's happy with the buy. Only one till at store takes cash-I found out from the employee greeting customers at the door. I had enough cash for one box of cards and had to use debit for the second box. I was able to do both transactions at the cash till!

I've started Christmas shopping but this year it will certainly be different. I picked up a yoga wrap and socks from MWW sale for younger DD. She's out west so we want to have the gifts wrapped and sent out by mid November. Canada Post has 2 sizes of prepaid post boxes. It will be so nice for her to unwrap gifts this year instead of packages from Walmart and Amazon.
For oldest DD and partner, they are actually receiving their Christmas package today We bought them an aerogarden on prime day. Since they're vegans and can definitely use it, we told them to go ahead and open it and starting using it ahead of Christmas. They are unwrapping it today on a video chat with us. With the days getting shorter etc, it will be nice for them to watch the growth of their herbs and lettuces. We also got them some empty pods so we can send them seeds for the aerogarden, sprouting and microgreens in December from our fav seed company.

I dropped into Canadian Tire to check out the zip up Outbound fleece jackets they have on sale. I wanted to get one for my Dad. on sale for $13.99 reg $39.99. I ended up buying 4 for Christmas gifts, they were so nice.
Christmas shopping is almost done. Keeping it small this year versus other years.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to check them out at my local store!
