Doing a happy dance here. Son got his PCR results in less than 48 hours which is a Christmas miracle and then our public health emailed us via the school to say isolation was no longer needed under certain conditions which he met all so gramma coming here is back on. We will still rapid test each of us for an added measure of safety but it’s all a nightmare anyway. My mom is 73 yrs old and my died at 72 so I am happy we don’t have to miss another Christmas. Son is happy he can go out but at this point it will likely be Boxing Day before he sees his friends.

That’s awesome news that you can have your mom over and your DS test came back negative.

Good morning all

Today will be the day for last minute baking . We are celebrating the holiday with just my house . This time of the year we usually go to NY to see my side of the family. My DH sister is hosting Christmas but we decided to stay away because it would be more than 30 people there

Good Morning and TGIF 2 hrs of work left for me then vacation time till the new year. I was also able to carry a week of vacation over till next year

I have a very small pile of stuff to get done and then I will be worry and stress free while off with no thoughts of work at all. It is a good feeling!

Well my day started off with doing some cleaning of our oven.
We're getting ready to start an afternoon of slow roasting bits and bites.
After that I'll make some banana bread and hopefully 1/2 a batch of shortbread cookies.

It's just the two of us now for Christmas eve so the plan is steak and roasted veggies. xmas dinner tomorrow at my parents

i am taking the day, and just doing nothing.
other then looking for my visa.... its in my house. i remember where i used it... it is not there... very frustrating

we need to pop over to MIL and drop off her card slash gift. i am practical.. we did a grocery store gift card. and we are dropping off chocalates to my neighbour.


i am going to voice my frustration... annoyance about the Rapid tests.. cannot find any .. any the freak where. so annoying should be readily available. ... that is my grump for the day....


ok. i am going to tidy up a bit.... not sure when supper will be.... we ususally do Apps... however .. oldest works tilll 8 pm... and honestly.. she was a bear going into work... cant imagine what mood she will be at the end.

i have tomorrow mostly planned... food wise... i think it will be a very very relaxing day.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Change in plans here, my fever spiked again last night and woke me a few times through the night. I knew I still had a fever when I got up this morning but gave it some time and took my temperature and sure enough yep, still got a fever. So to be safe I will not be attending Christmas with Dad's family tonight.

Cousin and his family just called to wish me a Merry Christmas and talked to his kids, kind of, they are in the car and watching their tablets.

Not much else going on, I don't feel sick but I do feel well either. I am super tired so just relaxing on the couch taking little naps as needed. Hopefully this fever will break soon and I will feel better.

I am exhaused i have watched my granddaughters very early everyday this week except thursday (then i ran out to shoppers double masked for a few items)even today i had to be at my sons at 6.00 a.m for daughter-in-law to go to work .

So merry xmas early everyone as it will be just hubby and myself sat xmas day .Gave up going to an open house tonight ,no thank you. Then we will go over to sons on boxing day around 3.00 p.m as he is working til 6.00 p.m to give my granddaughter,s their presents .My son and his family will be rapid testing before they have xmas at her moms ,so i feel pretty safe going on boxing day afternoon.

I will see my dear daughter and sebastian in the new year.

So exhaused watching the 2 granddaughter's today we built a snowman ,painted ,coloured and i did 2 loads of laundry for her .

Sat i will get the rest wrapped and fill the stockings to take ,i still give my grown son/wife and my daughter a stocking .lol along with the grandkids .

I think a lot of peoples Xmas plans have been turned upside down in the last few days. Hope everyone enjoys the Hoilday with whomever they are able to celebrate with whether in person or online.

For those who celebrated Festivus yesterday, hope all grievances were aired and that the feats of strength weren't literal!
(I had to watch some clips via Twitter to know how Festivus is celebrated; I only knew that Seinfeld show came up with the idea.)

Had a snow avalanche just after 10pm. Am expecting the rain tomorrow to deal with the slush pile.
A couple of daily Christmas contests ended with really good last day prizes, so I put my name in to see what happens next week.

Walked by Surplus Xtreme to get an idea of upcoming hours and found someone's bank card in parking lot (funny how year began and now ends with bank card find!). Have to wait until Wed. to give card to bank staff in-person.

It was amazing to see how much snow was on the ground this morning. Am relieved most of it softened or melted.
Tomorrow will be a tea day-lots of tea. Have layers on to keep chill off but did wake up with mild sore throat.

Ok, time to join the warm bed brigade and think sweet thoughts and gratitudes!
