Felt adventurous this morning so I took the turkey neck and liver from the freezer ( from the Christmas bird ) and placed them into a medium pot with water. Let it boil and then simmer along with a med. onion ( skin left on ) , scraps off the celery bunch, and couple of bay leaves.
Topped up the water 2 times as it evaporated. Strained away the solids, then fine diced the neck and liver meats.

S & P rounded out the flavour, added small slivers of carrot, celery and green onion Let it come back up to a boil to cook the scant 1/4 cup of basmati rice I added. This batch made 3 full servings of soup for my meal plan, each one only 100 calories!

Breakfast was early today, just before 9 a.m. heated up a 2 cup serving of the homemade butternut squash soup I made on Wednesday.
Once it was warmed up I added 1/4 cup each of roasted cauliflower pieces and steamed green beans to it as well as dicing up 3 of my homemade mini pitas into it.
    That was a hearty breakfast.

another cup of after 8 chocolate coffee; toast and pate (pork liver paste with garlic). Not everyone's choice for breakfast
I love coffee and garlic but not together of course . My 6 yrs old daughter asked me "mommy, why you smell like coffee and garlic" and I told her - coffee to help me stay awake and garlic to help me fight off vampires at night HAHAHA

@Purdee I am one who LOVES liverwurst ( pate? ) for breakfast too. Not the garlic type, the one with herbs in it. I slather it on Sour Dough toast....uh, well I USED to. Cannot anymore as of Jan 19th. Marching orders from Doc to drop this covid weight!
So there is still a small piece of the pate left in my cold cuts drawer but neither DH or DS will go within 10 feet of the stuff....ha ha
    It will get tossed sadly.
I love how you made your DD laugh about tackling vampires....ha ha

This morning I made sure to eat breakfast earlier so the calcium foods don't interfere with the antibiotics I have to take.
1/2 c. plain Greek yogurt with mango and kiwi pieces stirred in. 1 egg turned into egg salad....always hilarious when working with 1 Tblsp of mayo.
1 Ry-vita sesame crispbread and 3 pieces of celery, both to load the egg salad onto.
1/3 of a cup of a homemade bean salad. All yummo!

It was a bit of this and that this morning for my breakfast. All tiny amounts ( in grams ) diced up of each fruit. ( kiwi, apple, banana, strawberry, blueberry and mango ) Some I added to the ricotta cheese bowl, the rest went into the Greek yogurt bowl ( both quite small bowls ) .
Then a wisp of a serving of hummus with a few zucchini sticks. One single Ryvita Multi grain crispbread to load the ricotta cheese and fruit onto.
    Coffee ( a black Cafe Crema Tassimo ) .

Today I discovered what happens when I eat a small breakfast. It wasn't intentional, just thought I had all the items on my plate that I had negotiated for in my calorie counting trap. ( lol )
None the wiser I happily noshed on what I had, but then checking the written account online turns out I had totally missed putting the boiled egg onto my plate, as well as forgetting to stuff some ricotta into the Compari tomato I was broiling.

About 2 1/2 hours later I felt peckish, which doesn't usually occur. My full brekkie keeps me satiated for hours.

Yesterday I enjoyed my first slice of REAL bread ( Dimpflmeier light rye ) toasted and topped with a single soft yolk dippy egg on top.
It was glorious! All calculated into my allowances and it was so worth it. Who would imagine that bread would be my " cheat treat " and not chocolate?
