As I mentioned I spent just over $60 this week on groceries at 2 different store, I got:
No Frills
1 x Naturally Imperfect Mushrooms 680g $4.49
1 x Naturally Imperfect Carrots 5lb $3.49 (last week they were $2.99)
1 x Blueberries $1.88
4 x Tomatoes $0.88/lb
1 x Cucumber 2-pack $1.99
1 x Baby Spinach $3.99 - 50% off Sticker
2 x Mangos 2/$1.88
1 x Milk
2 x Eggs 18-pack $3.88
4 x Beef Broth $1.44
Food Basics:
2 x Broccoli $0.88
1 x Grapes $1.88/lb
1 x Lemons 2lb $3.98 - $1 Digital Coupon
2 x Ground Beef $2.98/lb
1 x Frozen Pie Crust x 2
I feel like we are stocked up on most meats for a bit but would not turn down a good sale. Will probably grab some more Chicken when I go to Costco as I need to make more shredded Chicken for the freezer.
Might still go into Wal-Mart next week and grab some frozen veggies. Normally going into Spring and Summer I would not stock up on frozen veggies but who knows what will happen with Veggie prices so they are a nice backup.
I just read online that Bread prices will be going up because Russia is the biggest exporter of wheat. Thinking now I might grab a few more big bags of flour just to be safe. If need be we can make our own breads as long as we have flour & yeast. I always have yeast on hand but might grab a few extra packages just to be safe.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Ugg, I am trying to write my meal plan and for some reason everything I come up with, has Pasta in it. I feel like my brain is stuck on pasta LOL.
With the two packages of Ground Beef, I was going to turn one into Taco Meat for the freezer, the other one into meat loaves for the freezer. But when I was in the freezer, I realized we only have 1 package of Ground Pork left and I would need 2 to turn the whole package ino Meatloaf. Looks like I will need a plan B.
Think I am going to have a bit of a kitchen day here today.
Happy Saturday Everyone2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Needed to drive down to see my in laws so took advantage of the fact their city has a no frills and yellow peppers were on sale for 1.69 a pound. That’s even cheaper then summer so I bought 6 huge ones. They freeze well and I will prep and freeze them for fajitas. DH had some good offers so we used his card and bought 80.00 in groceries and used 60.00 in PCO but earned back 20000 points. I like when that works out. He also had the 2.99 butter and 1.99 eggs offer at SDM and I am not buying any health and beauty products so did not need anything else so no ability to use the 20x offer.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Did not get as much done as I would have liked today, but well that is life. I am feeling a little run down and my hips and shoulders are hurting so took it easy.
It was mentioned to me that the branch I am working in does not feel my baking love. Pre-pandemic I did not work in this branch often, during the pandemic food sharing was a bit of a no-no, now that restrictions are lifting time to do some baking. I made a batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies and a batch of Lemon Ricotta Cookies. The Lemon Ricotta Cookies make a lot so I should have some to share with another branch too.
We turned half of one of the package of Ground Beef into Meat Sauce. We used half of the Meat Sauce to make Lasagna for Dinner tonight. Excellent choice I must say, it was so good.
Since we needed it for tonight's dinner, I grated the Parmesan & Mozzarella for the week, we have enough cheddar.
The rest of my Kitchen stuff will have to hold off for tomorrow. My goal is muffins, veggie & fruit prep, and maybe some snack mix.
I tried to go on Pinterest to break my dinner rut of every meal having Pasta. Pinterest was no help, it was endless pasta recipes. I will try this meal plan thing again tomorrow.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Even though we were woken up at 11pm and again at 2am with the sounds of drunken losers we had to go grocery shopping early. We started at RCSS at 7am and completed 5 stores in total (not everything was in stock) and it took us 2 hours. I’m exhausted.
Surprisingly RCSS had good stock levels and I finally got my chilli powder that I’ve been searching for about a month and a half! Guess everyone was making chilli .
Used points at RCSS so OOP was $7.48. Got rainchecks at save on for rice and vegan becel. My non dairy coffee creamer was on for $4.94 instead of $6.99 so I’m happy. Beautiful broccoli for $1.69/lb, green onions for 88C (no frills), 77C(RCSS) and 99C (Safeway). Had to buy at spall places since the quality/size was a bit of a hit and miss. That’s ok since we were going to these places anyways.
Splurged and got Dh a Starbucks coffee since we left before he could make one at home and he was awesome helping me shop today (he always helps me and never complains)
.
Now we need a nap

Feeling a little sluggish today, I do not spring forward well. For the next few days I will always feel a little behind. Got up at 7:30 which just yesterday would have been 6:30 so I feel I lost an hour, because I did.
Was moving some stuff around in the fridge and noticed one of my packages of blueberries had some soft berries so I turned them into Sour Cream Blueberry Muffins. But, I am low on Sour Cream so I used Greek Yogurt instead.
Made Taco Seasoning as we were out, then I tuned the a whole package of Ground Beef into Taco Meat for the freezer.
Started prepping some veggies for the week:
Cut up the rest of Romaine for Salads
Cut up two Cucumbers for Salads and snacks this week
Cut up the two Broccoli I picked up this week so they can be popped in the Oven or Air Fryer for a quick side dish
Still a few more things to be done but needed a lunch break.
Next I need to figure out dinner, thinking maybe smothered pork chops with mashed potatoes and veggies. Veggie options are Broccoli or Asparagus, hmmm maybe I will make both.
Happy Sunday EveryoneLast edited by SassyAshley; Sun, Mar 13th, 2022 at 02:36 PM.
