Today is my Friday. Yay. 4 days off. And 3 days DH and I are home alone. We have a few dinners with friends planned and I am paddle boarding and reading for the weekend, maybe weeding the garden but I want it to be low key. I have been super busy recently. I will get groceries Friday and then a dessert for dinners and Sunday and Monday.

Good Morning and TGIF! Rainy start to the day. Apparently the rain will be off and on here all weekend.
That's ok. Will make the best of it.
Lots of Canada Day activities happening in my area. Will get out and check stuff out. Fireworks Sat night. Not sure will attend as it is in the next town and then have to deal with the crazy traffic to come home. Maybe will be adventurous and ride bikes there on the new bike path? Depends on the weather and if rain they will be cancelled anyway.
Today's lunch is egg salad on Rye. Fresh pineapple and Greek yogurt for afternoon snack. Dinner- Not sure yet but the fridge is full of stuff to bbq so something will be made!
Have a wonderful day and long weekend everyone!

Good Morning Everyone,
Oh, what a week it has been. Got an email Monday Morning a customer has to do inventory Wednesday AM, luckily I was not booked on Wednesday. Thursday I woke up to a text where are you today (meaning where are working), it was supposed to be a work-from-home day but got the call just after 7 am, 5 people had called in sick so in I went.
On my way home last night I did our grocery shopping, originally I had planned to shop at both Food Basics and No Frills but after working in the branch I was not feeling it so I only went to No Frills but was able to Price Match pretty much everything I needed from Food Basics. A couple of items I could not Price Match but they were more of a want vs a need.
Today one of our branches is having a Canada Day BBQ which I will be attending and depending on what time I finish I may or may not run into RCSS. One thing Mom asked for was Buns but I forgot to look at No Frills yesterday.
Happy Friday Everyone2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

@harbie , that is horrible what your client did. It is such a simple request.
Although I have to wonder about people, yesterday when I was working the branch a co-worker came up to me and said they were going to wipe everything down and when I asked why. A customer told her, his helper who he brought with him but stayed outside has Strep. Why bring him in with you?2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

EXACTLY @SassyAshley . People have not learned a thing from the pandemic. I mean I’ve had conversations with people who say that they will wear a mask when they’re out if they’re sick to “protect others”! STAY HOME if you’re not feeling well
. Sorry but not only do I not want to get sick (of any kind) but I can’t afford it being self employed. Nobody pays for my sick days.
Guess people will never learn. Can’t fix stupid unless it’s with a 2X4.
TGIF everyone. Hope you have a great long weekend. Nothing planned except getting older. Stay safe and have fun.

@harbie people are so frustrating. Its just a simple ask - if you are sick cancel! You are right, you can't fix stupid. And sometimes even a 2x4 won't work lol.
Well I jinxed myself mentioning my upcoming oil change. Yesterday while driving I noticed my steering wheel is very stiff. Checked online and its a common problem with Ford Explorers - several recalls which would have been before I bought the truck used. I don't know whether to laugh or cry - first dental nightmare and now my truck. Sometimes I think if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all. Have to wait till Wednesday to get the beast in for service, which I am dreading.
My poor doggie, before all of this happened, I wanted to fence in my yard so that he could run around as opposed to always being on a leash - but no, dental and now truck problems $$$ grrrrr.
I hope everyone has better luck than me and has an awesome Canada Day (in spite of the smoke from forest fires). Air quality current at 7 which is not good.

@barbis9 , if it is part of a recall Ford should cover the fix.

@harbie , I went to the bank last month. I had to use a teller. The teller was sick. Coughing and sneezing. I asked if she was o.k. She did not look good. I had to use the hand sanitizer before leaving, since I touched some stuff at her wicket, to finish the teller service stuff

I am so sorry this happened to you.
I think you are doing a great thing by screening when you get to the client's place.
Suggestion: I don't know all the ins and outs about what you do, but, when you get to your client's place, can you stay outside, call/text again, and do the screening one more time?
And if they fail, tell them to see their doctor or go to a walk in, and call when they are better?
So sorry this happened to you. Take care.

@harbie your wish is my command! Here ya go! lol
@barbis9 I totally relate about luck. One of our sweet shih tzu's that is no longer with us was named Murphy, as in " Murphy's Law " . ( whatever can go wrong will ).
I hope down the road when the finances improve that fence will get built for your doggy to run off leash.
I was so proud to have gotten in and out at NF early this morning to get all the BBQ stuff and other week's groceries. However, now I see I forgot to grab a large tub of Greek yogurt!
I live on that stuff every day. Back I'll go later on when DH gets up. Of course I remembered to grab HIS beer, but forgot my own yogurt....ha ha

@SassyAshley Ford is terrible that way. My friend inherited a Ford Escape that had a old recall on the steering and Ford refused to fix it, saying the recall repair had expired. I had a part replaced that later was recalled and Ford refused to reimburse me. I will not buy a Ford again based on these experiences. One dealership in Burlington quoted me $6,000 in unnecessary repairs! I got a second opinion and it only cost $250 to repair. The dealership kept calling me to see if I wanted to trade in my truck. I do not trust Ford anymore.
I agree recalls should be covered but Ford is nasty that way. It took 4 separate recalls to repair the same rear suspension issue on my truck. They couldn't get the part in, than it was the wrong part, etc. There is now a warning on newer Ford Escapes not to park in the garage as it may catch on fire! Crazy. When they gave me a rental one time, the rental company said 75% of their business came from Ford paying for rentals for recall work.Last edited by barbis9; Fri, Jun 30th, 2023 at 12:48 PM.

When I was in my early 20's I bought a brand new Pontiac Grand AM. While still new under warranty it caught on fire while parked in the driveway (under the hood)
We were on our way out of town for a few days so I called the dealership and told them to pick it up and take care of it. They tried to refuse and said that the wires were draped over the top that someone did that. I advised them that it would have been them since that is the only place that ever worked on the car.
After calls to head office they were told to fix it. I couldn't wait to get rid of that car!!!
