    Good day!

I popped out earlier to get a few errands.
To the town office and put $75 cash on Water & Sewer bill. (for future bill- instead of putting cash in bank)
    Bank to deposit at ATM.
Since No Frills is across the street popped in there and grabbed a few things. Found bagels on 50% off so bought a few for the freezer for DS. Reduced box of chips and choc bars (from Halloween)
RCSS- Found clearance cart and grabbed a few things (posted in deals)

Not sure the plan for dinner....Will figure it out when we are hungry lol

    Good Evening Everyone,
Today turned into a very busy day.

Last night, my sinuses were bothering me so much they woke me up I got up to take sinus meds, only to realize I was out. Oh yeah, I took the last one a couple of weeks ago and said I better get more but since I never go to SDM so, I never grabbed more. I do not know what it is but they are the only thing that helps, I have been told they are a knockoff of the Tylenol ones but I have tried those when I could not get to an SDM but they do not work the same. I should see if RCSS sells them now since they carry the Life Brand Vitamins, not sure if they carry any other Life Brand stuff, hmmm, that would be nice.

So I went out this morning to grab those and also ran into No Frills because they had Milk on sale and I do not know what it is, my store only seems to stock up on the 2% not the 1%. When I went they only had 4 bags. I was going to Price Match the Ground Beef but not a pack, not sure if people were already price matching so they pulled it (I normally go at 8, this time I didn't go till 8:30 because SDM opens at 9).

Well I was there I grab 4 of the games on the go, one of the Hit of the Months, they were $4. I will add them to our donation bins at work.

I was able to make it to Food Basics and they did still have some ground beef so I grabbed 3 packs. I keep hearing Beef has gone up in price so happy to stock up.

Other random things I grabbed all on sale were:
Food Basics - Lemons, Clementines & Broccoli
No Frills - Fries, Cucumbers, Peameal, Kolbassa, Pasta, Milk and Kettle Cooked Chips
The peameal and Kolbassa are for Mom.
I missed the pasta sale week at Food Basics as I thought I was stocked up until I went to make Pasta Tuesday and realized it was my last back of "regular" pasta (I have tons of Orzo, Gnocchi and Egg Noodles).
I grabbed the chip as treats since they are on sale for $1.75 and I had a points offer for 100 pts.

Also had to have Mom's car boosted again. Long Story, found what we needed to find got it boosted and she is running again, although I still need to put gas in her because I was afraid to turn her off.

A lot more done today than planned but happy to have it done and not have to worry about it tomorrow and can just take the day off.

    Happy Thursday Everyone.

Happy Friday!! It was nice having Wednesday off this week...and now its the weekend!

I had planned to go to Food Basics last evening but it did not happen. I should have known better when I parked in the garage yesterday after my lunchtime errands that I was not going to venture back out. Will get there today.

Dinner last night- I went to the kitchen at 5:45pm and decided pasta with meat sauce from the freezer (added 1 jar of classico sauce to stretch it out) Even used pasta that is to expire Jan 2026 so that is a win! Have 1.5 boxes left of that expiry date so will make sure to use it next time we have pasta.

Today- Work- Get a few big things done to make my 3 work days next week easier before vacation.
Give my office a good clean at the end of the work day- Have to keep up on it. There is a bin of odd socks in here that need to be dealt with!
Go to FB and get a few things on my list.
Garage- Move the patio table so we can move the garbage/recycling bins back in their place.

This weekend- Vacuum vehicle. Give it a good wipe down inside. Put 1 winter rim in back so it is there when I go for new tire installation next week.
7C gas saving at Ultra expires Tuesday so top up the tank.

Ok hoping to have a productive day! Enjoy the day everyone!

    Good Afternoon Everyone,
I was so excited to turn my alarm off for today, since I haven't been feeling my best I was looking forward to sleeping in. Nope wide awake at 6:30 so I got up and started my day.

I didn't really want to go to Costco, I was kicking myself that I did not force myself to go last night and just it done. But after a bunch of back and forth with myself, I decided to just get it done. I did spend a bit more than I would have liked but I did grab a few "extra" things plus Mom's vitamins were on sale and that always increases how much I spend but I saved $12 so that is a win.

My countertop cheese grater died again. I love the one from Kitchen Stuff Plus but it doesn't last, I thought the first was a fluke but nope the second one did the same thing to me. They stop sticking to the counter and if they won't stick you can't grate with them as slip and slide all over. Costco brought on in, it was a little bit more $$$ wise but looks more sturdy so I picked that up. I have been watching for it to go on sale but I also noticed stock is starting to sell out.

They also had a big bag of shrimp on sale, it came with 4 smaller packs in a big bag it was I think 1.8 KGs for $21.99, I thought it was a good price so I grabbed it, we have been out of shrimp for awhile but everytime it is on sale my store doesn't have any.

Also grabbed a box of Apple Blossoms, we used to buy these at M&M's for $0.99, this was a 12 pack for $12.99, sounded like a good deal.

Then we need more corn, chicken bites, naan, nachos, cheese slices, yogurt, eggs, cream cheese, bacon bits & brown sugar.

On sale I also got big baggies, aluminum foil (the massive roll), glysomed cream (love this stuff).

I thinK i heard the sales change again next week but if there is anything we need it should be a smaller shop.

Also on the way home I ran into Freshco to grab evaporated milk for the donations at work. It was a $1.49 + 100 points if you buy 4, I grabbed 8 cans. Also found shelf stable almond milk for $2.49 + 100 points if you bought 2 so I grabbed 4.

Next week I will email all the locations to see what Charities they choose so I can decide what else I will pick up, but also split up what I have based on the Charities.

I also want to see if I can find more of the Games on the Go from the Loblaw Banner stores, I was going to try Zehrs on my way but it started to rain and I was trying to get home so I did not get soaked bringing in my groceries. That plan did not work.

    Happy Friday Everyone.

    Dinner planned itself!
Went to FB and they had the Lean ground beef (thought it may be sold out so didn't make the plan for it)
    Grabbed a broccoli (.99)
    We have corn/mccain fries/gravy
$13 total so $3.25 per serving! (used 1.5lbs of the ground beef) And we get to stay home nice and cozy

Cooked the ground beef as soon as I got home so the messy part is done so will take 15 mins to make the fries/gravy/corn/brocoli etc when we are ready to eat!
Love an easy Friday night meal and not take out

    Good Morning Everyone,
Woke up early but had trouble getting out of bed and must have fallen back asleep, opps.

I have a batch of Apple Pie English Muffins rising. It is weird because I do not like English Muffins but I do not think these are going to be like store bought english muffins and could be a good option for gifts if I decided to go to Christmas (that is still up in the air).

I have a ton of stuff I should be doing today but we will have to see where the day takes me.

I finished up September's budget last night, need to set up and complete October so we can move into November.. I was surprised I knew there was "extra" spending in September with everything going on but I still came in under budget. I knew I wasn't over budget but I expected to come in close on a few categories and I was under.

Now to see where I fall in October, again 95% sure we aren't over budget (one category might be over, but there is overage I can use to cover it). I wouldn't mind being under budget and having some extra $$$ to use this holiday season.

    Happy Saturday Everyone.

    Good morning.

Off to work today . My schedule is totally changed this week due to my dad's appointment earlier. It’s a good thing I have google calendar pop up on my phone otherwise I wouldn’t know where I was going or what day it is .

Yesterday after work I was near a Thrifty’s and flipped their flyer and saw my soy milk was $3.99 so grabbed 3 and used $1 coupons. Also grabbed a small bag of brussel sprouts, kalettes (soooooo good when air fried with salt and pepper.

We hit the gym when I got home and took my mom and dad too. Dad needs to work on maintaining (actually more like building and then maintaining) his muscle mass as per his Dr. so we all went to the gym. I managed to get in a 3.5km run and then home for dinner.

    Have a great weekend everyone

Happy Saturday to you 2 gals! It's always nice to come in under budget Sassy. Harbie, the family that sweats together stays together? lol.
How wonderful to have your parents work on their fitness at the gym along with you!
I totally talked myself out of doing a top up shop at both NF and FB this morning. Instead I'm waiting for the " Captain " to wake up and we'll
head out later together. Why struggle alone when he can be there to reach the top shelves and carry stuff to the vehicle...bwahaha.

    Carry on shoppers!

    Happy Saturday!

Since we have pending snow tomorrow!!!! Decided to go for a drive to the beach to watch the waves.
Then redeemed points on free dinner for all of us (burgers/onion rings/sweet potato fries) Well DS ate his this afternoon so he can fend for himself later tonight.
Went to SB to grab a latte (point offer and I hadn't had one in a long time) Was terrible- they were out of oat milk so I got coconut instead and did not taste good at all. I choked down most of it lol.
At RCSS they had replenished the bunker with the sirloin roasts- with 30% stickers (reason the original ones were huge roasts and not selling so they cut them smaller) So grabbed one that was $26 and change so paid $18.25.
Roast for dinner tomorrow night and the 2nd one I will cut up in strips for the freezer for fajitas another night! Didn't use the broccoli last night so that will go with dinner tomorrow night.

Tomorrow- Housework, Packing for trip. Thinking I may give the kitchen cupboards a good clean out/organize. Then make a list of things that need to be used up.

    Have a great evening!

Well that did not go as planned.

The English Muffins tested me. I think my dough was too wet. They were impossible to shape, my apples kept falling out, they stuck to my cast iron pan and the stuck bit burned and then they would not bake.

The cast iron pan was so bad it look me over an hour to clean it. I scrubbed it, didn;t work. Then I simmered it with baking soda and water, that got some of it off but not all of it. Tried scrubbing it again, got more off. Finally I made a paste with baking soda and water and that got it off but was a lot of work.

You after you cook them in the pan you are supposed to bake them for 10 minutes, I baked mine for 25 and they were still doughy so I split it open and bake it for another 5 minutes. That did it but then they were a bit dry.

I am not ready to give up but will come up with a plan b for breakfasts this week as I think I can only eat them at home when I can bake them split open. In a couple of weeks I might try the cinnamon raisin version and see, there are so many good reviews, maybe it is me.

After all that I needed a break so I set up my budget for October, now I just need to fill it out and then start November.

I did not get the cleaning I planned to do today done and tomorrow will be a prep day so we shall see where we get. I will write a prep list tonight and see how quickly I can knock it out tomorrow and try to get some of the cleaning done.

Having an apple blossom for desert and then I think I will work on October's budget.
