Midday on Saturday, all's quiet here now. This morning was a crazy turn of events. Second to last in my store hopping was Metro to buy 2 new fold-able grocery boxes.
I impulsed ordered one of their amazing Pizzas-to-go ( plain pepperoni ). Certain that I detected a burnt odour as I checked out but ignored that taking it home.
Sure enough the bottom was very burnt even though the top was fine. I drove right back to get a refund.
To my shock there was another customer there who had ordered THREE of their 3-topping pizzas and all 3 of hers were also burnt on the bottoms??
Unusual as this pizza is always top quality! Must be something malfunctioning in the oven with uneven heating? That was the Universe telling me I DIDN'T need pizza!

Before any of that had happened I had gone to NF to get my DS his 12 cans of Stagg chili @ $2.50 each. They were handing out a bag with 3 free items in it to
the first 300 customers. The receipt inside read a $12.28 value! What a generous promo. A bottle of Bulls Eye BBQ sauce, a bag of Coffee Crisp clusters and a
bottle of Nestle Iced tea. PLUS fresh donuts for the taking. What a time to be dieting! I donated my bag of free things to their food bin and sidestepped the donuts.
The gal twisted my arm ( lol! ) to take a couple of granola bars with me...ha ha

Next I went across the road to FB for their cheap 2L cartons of milk, a case of Molisana Passata, 2 pkgs. of sale priced T-Bone steaks and 2 Black Forest hams
( 2,000 points back on each ) A different NF store is near the Metro so this time I accepted the bag of free items when I picked up my Greek yogurt.
I wonder how long it took for the NF stores to run out. The cashier told me that people were lined up outside her store before they opened AND some families had each member buy a product to get the free bag. ADORABLE that they think the cashiers don't know the are related...ha ha

Well we just arrived in Singapore and the free food ends after brekkie so we will have to fend for ourselves!

Today I learned something new. If you own a smart tv, search “Christmas plus” to download a free app full of Christmas movies and tv shows. It comes with regular commercials like basic Netflix has.

I went to 3 differents groceries this week for small things at each one.

I noticed at the 3 places the donations bins are pratically empty...

That is sad.....

For any Air Miles users they have the 30% bonus back in miles now, I used all my miles to get gift cards to use as Christmas gifts. Do make sure you opt in. Then I realized I had a crazy amount of Scene points so I cashed in a bunch of points for restaurant gift cards.

We just checked into a 5 star hotel in Singapore-it is the bomb. I booked it on Hotwire as a mystery hotel-after all how bad could a 5 star be? Had a little swim in the rooftop pool. They offered us brekkie for $31 each which we declined.
Had lunch at the mall food court for 5$ instead-and couldn't finish it. Of course we are noshing on candies as well-no dinner needed! It is 31 and very humid-but I best not complain as it will be cold when we return.

@lilo0003 that's what I did as well! I was oblivious about the 30% back in points offer, but once I opted in I ordered my e-vouchers. Same with my RBC points, redeemed for a
discounted amount to get gas GC's. There is not a huge balance in my Scene points BUT when I have 'em I redeem to get $10.00 off my FreshCo orders.
Loving my rewards cards, but am now getting concerned that with the changes coming, retailers will be allowed to refuse a CC that has a reward feature attached.

@walkonby , that explains why No Frills was so busy when I drove by just after 8 am yesterday to put gas in Mom's car. I remember seeing the parking lot and thinking that is weird for right at opening but I see why now.

@cath007 , sadly I think so many people are struggling right now and I do not think we realize how many people who used to donate and now need these services.

Good Morning Everyone,
I did not get the pantry done yesterday, I got distracted after lunch and well things happen.

I did clean up my phone and edit some of my videos so that was good.

Dinner was Chicken Caprese Spaghetti Squash, I had two spaghetti squash to use up, now we just have one.

Dinner tonight will be a Roast Beef Dinner, Mom has mentioned it a few times and either it was warm on Sunday and didn't feel like roast weather or I was using the oven.

So far, it looks like a work from home week so I am going to skip my prep today and instead make a Roast Beef dinner and focus on cleaning.

Still working on my crochet Christmas cracker and found a few other patterns I want to try. I think I have all the supplies needed on hand. I love to crochet but I feel like it piles up but it also helps me mentally just to shut my brain down so we will see what I get made.

Afternoon hubby went to replace a leaky facet in our main bathroom upstairs and it was old 15 or 16 years old ,We needed to replace it so off to home depot this time spent a bit more and got a moen facet,hubby has already replaced it .

I didnt go out today as i wanted to,bathroom facet shopping it was instead.

@coupon girl you and I both had adventures at a Home Depot today. Our double kitchen sink ( original since we moved here in 1988 ) needs to be replaced.
Silly me, I thought we'd go in, choose one, pay and head home so DH could install it. ha ha ha . None of the ones there were the correct size OR specific
type. DH needed a drop in one, not an under mount. Pfft! All Greek words to me. So we of course had to special order one, can't pick it up at the store until
Wednesday. BOOOO!! I'll be a single sink person until the new one gets installed. ( can only fill up one side to wash the dishes ) Bummer.

Today is my youngest granddaughter's birthday ,Cara is 8 today .She called last night to tell me what she got from her birthday party .Then she asked will you come out for supper to Kelseys with our family nana and papa.Of course we will .They are only little once .

Good Morning Everyone,
I got some cleaning done yesterday. Nothing earth shattering but slowly getting things back on track.

Bathroom was scrubbed, including the tub and the floor. I had to laugh I put the new bath mat down and it changes colour, when Mom got up she asked me what was all over the mat, I ran up stairs in was her foot prints making it look more grey.

Did the general kitchen tidy, emptied he Dishwasher, put away the hand dishes.

I made the Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes, Gravy and Candied Acorn Squash, although my proportions were off on the squash a little too much butter. I also made a pineapple crisp which we did not eat as we were stuffed.

I want to get back to getting the oddities out of my freezer so I have room for stuff we want to keep in their. The pineapple is one of those things.

Today I have laundry going. the last load of our regular laundry is in the dryer so I tossed in the couch blankets, they needed to be washed.

Also before I started work, I cleaned out the fridge, not a lot to go, one piece of skillet pancake I did not eat and some rice I forgot about and got shoved to the back of the fridge. But cleaned it out and took the garbage out.

I am doing my best to knock out my work stuff but I gotta be honest, now that I am getting things done, I would love to just focus on the house but that is not life, it is a work day.

Need to figure out dinner for tonight, hmmmm.
