Making some chicken legs and mashed potatoes tonight.
Mom is having a backyard BBQ with friends, we're having ribs, chicken, garlic bread, corn on the cob, macaroni salad, chocolate chip cookies, blueberry pie, ice cream and lemonade. Have a safe and happy long weekend everyone:)
NF had beef ribs on sale, so there are 2 pkgs. ( 4 slabs ) all cut up and roasting slowly!!
I still have about 7 lbs of mussels left from yesterday...so will need to use those up today....I might invite a couple of friends and bbq a couple of steaks and cook the mussels on the bbq (my fav. way to cook mussels is to put in a large pot and throw in a can of Aylmer Accents Garlic & Olive Oil and steam for 10 mins) (I've tried all the other tomatoes/wine, etc and this works the best...the tomatoes after are so good scooped on toasted pieces of buttered bread/baguette)

Going to cut up all the leftover chicken from yesterday and cook it with rice and veggies.
I placed a wholesale meat order and picked it up on Friday. I have just discovered GARLIC BACON. Omg!!! Can't the world create anything more perfect? mmmmm. SO BLTs for dinner tonight. Perfect summer feeling evening meal.
..another bbq this evening, pork chops and I mashed together rutabaga & potato with butter, sour cream , S & P,....and green peas and grill'ems...:)
