Mashed potatoes are done and in the fridge for tonight's dinner, ready to reheat. Made a spice rub with Sweet Baby Ray's and Club House for a big steak (bbq), and will do up the last of the frozen lobster tails from the last $2.99 Metro sale. Green salad with the remaining lettuce (websaver coupon) and cucumber with PC Points, and clarified butter will finish up the pound of butter from the fridge (frozen from another Metro sale). Keep back, rainclouds...
Chicken burger with onion, mushroom, chilli-garlic sauce on a toasted bun.
Today dh is going golfing with his co-workers. He doesn't like golf, so he goes because it is a work thing. Afterwards we are going to one of their houses for a bbq with all the families. We are supposed to bring some buns to the event. I'm looking forward to it and LO will have a blast.
I plan on roasting a picnic ham tomorrow, since it is the weekend and one of the coolest days in the forecast.
fresh crab legs
Cold day, actually, so I just made chicken soup for tonight. Can't wait!
Green salad with chopped tomatoes and cottage cheese
Baked fish, steamed carrots and homemade fries.
BBQ hamburgers that had to be finished off indoors because we ran out of propane :(
Red potato salad & curried couscous
Baked ham with Mac and Cheese and Broccoli. Fresh fruit and chocolate ice cream for dessert.
fried salmon nad trout with stir fried greens chow mein.
....I was too tired to do anything tonight so I ended up cooking flounder (similar to cod) and making fish burgers with cheese and my own tarter sauce...and seeing that I'm home I have a pork roast (shoulder) in the slow cooker......hmmmmm, I'm trying this new recipe for pulled pork using a can of root beer...will have to let you know how it turns out :yikes:
Mmmm I bet that will be delicious KelJo :) Pulled pork is one of my favourites. A local food truck sells pitas filled with pulled pork and coleslaw and they are sooooo delicious.
I made breakfast for supper - poached eggs, homemade hashbrowns, and maple sausages. It was really good but very filling.
Hope you grandmother is well Keljo.
We are having some crab tonight for supper. :)
Mom will be making prawn curry, basmati rice, stir fry kale and carmelised onion, blueberry & lime cheesecake for dessert.
We'll be having leftovers. Hamburgers, curried couscous and whatever may be left from lunch today.
Friday nights dinner was bucatini pasta in a homemade tomato sauce with spicy Italian sausage and fresh homegrown basil with a salad using my own homegrown lettuce and local tomatoes.
This was before my accident while I tried to climb the ladder to the roof so thankfully there was leftovers for Saturday since I'm not able to walk very well :(. Thankfully I'll be ok and it could have been a lot worse!
Not sure about tonight since DH and I are looking after our 4 year old nephew, maybe pizza delivery.

Going to my DD for my Bday, Her DH is making my fav Striploin steaks, shrimp and pineapple skewers, baked potatoes and fresh beets. Chocolate cake for dessert and most likely a glass of wine or 2.
Penne pasta with yummy tomato sauce and garlic breadsticks.
Last night's bbq was fun, but I ended up with food poisoning from the macaroni and potato salads. So I've spent most of the day trying to recover. There were lots of hotdogs, chips, alcohol (not for me), and pop. It was funny that there were no veggies or fruit.
For supper tonight we got 2 large Domino's pizza, cheese bread, and a large bottle of coke for $24. I'm having pizza for lunch at work tomorrow.
pork adobo with potato and broiled red pepper, the pork was excellent...... depends on the cut and lots of marbling makes all the difference.
...have to admit the pull pork made with root beer was good!!! Probably not something I would use on a regular basis, I was just curious to see how it would taste....the pork was really tender and moist....and it didn't taste like root beer at all....
I filled the bottom of the slow cooker with 2 large chopped onions, put the roast on top of the onions, added spices and then poured in the root beer..at around the 6 hr mark (which was midnight...lol) the roast was already falling apart, so I took it out removed the bone and all the fat, etc and then shredded the meat, removed all the onion, poured off more than 1/2 the liquid, put the shredded meat back in the slow cooker and then added Diana chicken & rib bbq sauce and mixed it all together and let it simmer for another 90 mins ....
this evening I cut large, square ciabatta buns in 1/2, hollowed out some of the bread, buttered the bottom portion, added lots of the cold shredded pork, slices of marble cheese, put mayo on the top part of the bun, then wrapped the buns in tinfoil and baked in the oven at 350 for about 1/2 hr...they were so good, the bun was crispy on the outside and soft inside and the cheese was all melted and gooey!!
I've been sick with a bad tummy bug since midnight - during the day just had a few soda crackers.
Had a nap and hopefully slept it off because I woke up so hungry, no gut ache - so I chanced having a roast chicken sandwich at eight.
breakfast for supper. bacon, eggs and toast
Spaghetti and meat sauce tonight.
I stopped at the Superstore to get a couple things and they had Olymel pulled pork on sale for $4.49, plus it had a pink 30% off sticker plus I had a $1 off coupon (making my cost $2.14), so it will be pulled pork for supper tonight. Not as good as home made but it will do ;)
I made pizza!! ..made my own dough, tomato sauce, extra oregano, ham, pepperoni, salami, lots of mozzarella cheese, onion, mushrooms and added some of the leftover pulled pork--delish!!! leftovers for lunch tomorrow...:)
I had posted supper plans in the lunch thread, so I've changed places...
Supper is chicken casserole - cut-up leftover chicken (some boiled from soup, some roasted breast), green beans, peas, carrots, corn; sauteed onions, celery and cauliflower; in a mushroom gravy. Served over baked rice, with coleslaw.
Leftover chicken noodle soup to start for the guys.
Tonight was sausages, potatoes and cauliflower all grilled outside.
