Hamburger Helper Lasagne. The noodles weren't the right texture for some weird reason. Kept the package to call the company tomorrow.
Too exhausted to cook - dh is at work, kids can fend for themselves - i had a banana and PB and a cup of tea!
I just tried M & M's - Slow Cooked Pot Roast - and it's totally awesome, the store had it on sale this weekend for $10.99. It takes 1 hour to make in a 350 degree oven. The gravy is pre made - when the meat is done, you remove the roast, pour the drippings in a saucepan and you just add cornstarch + water (mixed together to make a thickener, pour it into the drippings in the saucepan) and it thickens up quickly into a nice gravy over medium heat. I also made mashed potatoes and cooked carrots. The clerk at the store said you can use the leftovers for another meal - ie pulled meat in a bun with the left over gravy as the dipping sauce.
:top:
I loved the Roast and would recommend it if you want a quick dinner.
Thx, Mystic, good to know about the roast, I had wondered about it; haven't been disappointed by anything from M&M yet!
Tonight, husband and I made (he did the physical labour, but takes direction well, lol!) baked garlicky chicken pieces, baked rice with peas with sauteed onions in butter mixed in.
Such an easy, simple supper - but gosh, it was YUMMERS!
i stopped in to food basics late saturday night and just as i was walking buy the roasted chickens the guy was putting 40% off on them and they were already 2/$12. so i scooped 2 of them up. warmed 1 up last night for dinner, with mashed potatoes, mashed carrots with mashed turnip mixed together - dash of brown sugar and lots of s+p. so yummy.
not to sure for tonight... there's still a ton of chicken, so maybe some chicken alfredo. DH is on afternoons this week so it's just me and my 2 picky eaters...
Leftovers:homemade wings, shepard's pie and lots of veggies:)
Vegetarian tonight - baked rigatoni and garden salad.
Made a yummy Mac 'n' Cheese - served it with various salads but in all honesty the Mac was so good we all went back for seconds and didn't bother with the salad, lol -
Plus lemon muffins and lemon butter - Nice!!
for lunch, i did pork pho.... it was yummilicious.
Had pupusas..not on the diet but didnt have to cook so I won't complain. It will call for some extra walking this wk!
I was supposed to do stuffed potatoes until I found out they were all mini potatoes...I ended up doing it like a bake instead. Onions and cheese melted on top of diced baked potatoes and then did one of those broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breasts from the No Frills .88 sale.
Pancakes! Because I just really felt like making them. Yum!! Crush Cream Soda to drink!
for dinner, i did a fREE grilled chicken breast sandwich with tomato, cheese and lettuce on light rye bread.
