At the right time, a kind word from a stranger, or encouragement from a friend, can make all the difference in the world. Kindness is free, but it's priceless. ~ Doe Zantamata

Yup, last year it was WAY too frigid for WAY too long! Siberia-ish.

Yes, I recall hearing news about Saskatchewan being in deep freeze for a straight 2 weeks...
I wonder how you guys deal with it.
I'll admit that I am one of the biggest wimps around... I already started wearing thermal shirts and pants underneath my workclothes and winter coat when the temperature hits the single digits...At the right time, a kind word from a stranger, or encouragement from a friend, can make all the difference in the world. I don 't have to deal with winter, I just love the cold. I dress like I'm a teenager still. I would rather have cold even - 50 rather then heat and humity.

Well there is a coat of cement dust on everything in the house. So much for my bright idea to tile in the winter.
If I wasn't so pi$$ed I would be crying right now. Of course to top it off after I dropped off DH I came back home to find the plow had been by again, oh joy and the snow is falling off my neighbors carport into my driveway. Must call the city about that and find out the bylaw. I do not want to have to shovel his crap and mine.

SO annoyed at DH right now. He just phoned to ask if I thought it would be a good idea to look after someone's dog for the rest of the winter.
Here's the deal, its for the secretary at his shop, her family's home burned down in early November, leaving them in a rental until their new house is built sometime in the spring. Their landlord just told them that they aren't allowed to keep the dog there anymore, so now she needs a place to board the dog.
They are a fantastic family, really nice people...but what in the heck gave my hubby the idea that I would be okay with another big dog coming to live in my house. I have enough problems with our big boxer running around underfoot, especially now that its so bloody cold and he's in the house all day.
He thinks its a great idea, but he's also not home all day...and he's taking off in February for three months of trade school 5 hours away...he might be home every 2 weeks.
On top of that, we're going to have like 20 people over here for Christmas including DH's sister who is bringing her Bouvier (essentially a small horse...who is an inside dog)...
And if I say no, then I'm the big bad mean wife. Wouldn't her insurance pay for boarding at a kennel or something?
Sorry for the un-twitter like rant...just need to get it out.http://superpoints.com/refer/hockeymomma

This made me giggle! (The small horse part)
Seriously thoughthat is alot to ask...if I was that women I would not want to impose on anyone! If he does end up staying I would as the dog owner pay for his food and even offer to pay you as the babysitter. That is a really long time, and you have your own dog and children to take care of. Good Luck!

Robyn, hun, you just say no, then your husband explains nicely that sorry, your family just isn't able to help out. He doesn't have to go into in-depth explanation.
