  1. Good afternoon. I did turn the furnace on this morning for a little while. LOL Don't think I've ever done that in July B4, but it's ok now, windy, but ok. Certainly not hot.
That's so cute. Peel one for you, then one for Jenny. I can just picture it. A new driveway, I think I have to have mine done too.
I hope, all in all, the pain's not quite as bad as it was. Thinking about you and hoping you're taking care of yourself.
  2. Good morning, Sweetie....sorry you're so cold this morning...we're okay here, 19 now, heading to 22 later, 26 tomorrow, so I still have the air conditioner going here. Imagine if you had to turn the heat on in July!?!

Hubby's golfing Timberwolf this morning with our SIL, and I have bunch of guys here digging up our driveway; Jenny keeps asking me (yep, she goes to 'her' chair in the window, but instead of just going up her stairs, she stands there whining for me to sit in the chair with her...spoiled, much? ) to join her on her chair, and I did fir a while, watching the bulldozer, but it's just too uncomfortable for me for too long. So here we are, on the sofa, sharing sunflower seeds. Yes, I 'peel' the odd one for her, too, but she seems to feel it should be one for her, one for me, etc, lol....

    I hope you're having a lovely day, Hon! {{{HUGS}}}
  3. You're entitled to complain. Your leg hurts like he!! Yes more weeding, & a little planting. Exciting life. lol
  4. Good morning! I'm going to stop my incessant complaining, lol! But wow, I was dis-heartened this morning, worrying about tendon damage; I wish my surgeon had told me what to expect as far as recovery is concerned! I think I may just call Avon to complain, and chat about her new step-grand-daughter, lol!

So, more weeding for you today, or have you more exciting plans on your agenda? I have to live vicariously through you people!
  5. Hello. I'm hoping the worst is over for you & you can do a little next summer. Something to look forward to. I'm soooo done for today. My back will only take so much, but I love getting out there and doing something. I have no intentions of staying "cool", but I definitely will "inhale every blessed second of summer". I love it.
  6. Hi, Sweetie...thank you for the rep...Oh, so jealous...I love what little gardening I used to do and have missed it last and this summer; I'm hoping I'll be able to poke around in our garden next year, or my hubby will have to raise the bed by 4 feet! Stay hydrated, stay cool...and inhale every blessed second of summer!! {{{Hugs}}}
  7. Hi. It's nice to hear ur walking, even if it's just to another room. Finally relaxing. Church this morning; then grocery shopping, laundry, 3 walks for Jake (got soaked on all 3 ), met with a contractor re: some household repairs, dishes, dinner, baked a pie, & I'm done.

Next week, I haven't even looked @ my calendar yet. It's suppose to be nice tomorrow, so I hope to get back to my weeding, if it isn't too muddy.

Hey, wasn't it you who told me to get off my butt & get out there. lol
I so love the summer; there's just not enough hours in the day. I wish it would hurry up and get here.
    Sweet dreams my friend.
  8. Hey, Chickie-poo!!! Have you finally settled down to roost for a while?! Your antics exhaust me...but then again, just walking to another room lately exhausts me! What's on your very busy agenda for next week? I'm having to live vicariously through everyone else lately.. Hope you're having a relaxing Sunday, Hicks!
  9. I know there's a lot of 'what if's', I've been through my fair share as well, but all anyone can do, is hope, trust, and be positive. I know, easier said than done. But I will be there with you, holding your hand, in spirit of course, as will the Lord, so focus on that touch, that energy, and hopefully, you'll feel us there with you.
  10. , you're so sweet, thank you, Hicks. I think it's just a matter of holding my nose and going forward; keep calm and carry on, sort-of...ish...Gosh I suddenly got so nervous after that phone call! So weird. It's not the surgery, although who needs that, right, but what if I lose more feeling in my leg and foot? That would be awful....but yes, you're right: positive thoughts and a whole whack of prayers!
Take good care of yourself, Busy Lady.....I'll check in here later tomorrow, God willing..
  11. Nope....but we do seem to share the same taste in sweatshirts!
  12. Is that you camping ?
  13. Nice. I really miss fishing. Dropping it off @ ur DD's is a great idea. Next week will come soon enough, so just enjoy this one as much as possible.
    Have fun love.
  14. I never thought of it that way, Hicks, but you're right...it's going to be a darn good distraction for me! Now the only question is...how do I get his new fishing rod into the van without him seeing it? LOL...I think a trip to our DD's to drop it off is probably the best bet...I'll make the excuse that I have to pick up some knitting yarn at Michaels to get me out of the house, since he does all the running around for other things...
Have a lovely weekend, my Friend!
  15. I don't have one of those thingies LOL but I can always use a blender. Just have to get off my butt & get started. Lately, every spare minute I get, I just want to lay down. Getting old I guess, or, just stressed & overworked.

I think you're right. We do feel the cold, and heat, much more the older we get. Our skin is thiner, our circulation isn't as good, ......
I HATE being cold. No way I'm putting the air conditioner on, no way. I wait for months & months to be warm. I'd rather sweat than shiver.
Besides, I believe our bodies adjust. If your house is cool / cold, your body feels the heat much more when you go outside. I just love the fresh air blowing through the house.

Hey, really glad to hear today went so well.
  16. This thing...I can't imagine having a kitchen without it anymore!! No more onion tears!
It's a Starfrit Swizzz Prozzz Chopper if you can imagine a more difficult name than that!
  17. Hey there!! I hope you try his 'recipe'...it's just the frying and the rice-making you have to do separately..the mashing of the veggies and vitamins are pretty easy (I hope you have a Starfrit pull-thingy grater thing!!). The final result is way worth the effort..
Sun's out here for a change, so why am I hiding in the house freezing?! LOL! We turn the air on to keep it cool at night, and although we keep the house cool, I feel downright cold right now; I had to put a sweater on! Does that make any sense?! I'd better hear outside to warm up. I'm cold a lot of the time lately...does one feel colder as one gets older? Honestly, it's almost time for those pretty flannelette nightgowns again! More sewing, because I don't think you can find pretty ones anymore..
    Enjoy the sunshine, Hon!!
  18. Again, thank you. That sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't when you only do it twice a month, and I'm cooking every day. Shish. Hey, do you want to send your husband down here. LOL Have a great day. Sunny here, finally, @ least for now.
  19. Oh, you're welcome Hon....absolutely convenient! I think my Hubby cooks it up twice a month! Just watch that there's a 2/1 ratio of meat to rice and veg...and of course, any meat is fine....sometimes we buy liver and chop it up into the ground beef...chicken, hearts, gizzards (they come in packages)...a variety is always nice for them and for what they do for them...have fun!
  20. LOL - clever. I took an early retirement 6 yrs ago, after my husband died. I just couldn't function, so couldn't have kept my job. But, I do like retirement.
  21. Aha! So you're on the government's "Cash for life" program, too!!
It's so hard to tell how old a lot of people are around here...there are a bunch of us, though!! We should have an "Over 60" thread!!
  22. I also believe in the power of prayers, and, I too am 65, so I know the feeling.
BTW, you can complain all you want. I do understand. I'll p.m. you.
  23. Oh, my goodness, Hon!! What your poor son had to endure, I just can't imagine it!! Thank God he's come through it and is pain free from all that hardware. Well, I sure don't have much to complain about, lol....but pain is pain, I guess, and it's best we're without it... Thank you for your prayers, I truly believe in the power of prayer...jeepers, I'd better! At 65, I'm getting ever closer to needing them! Hahaha!!
    Hugs to you, Sweetheart!...Lynn
  24. My son had titanium bars in both his arms & one leg. He was always in such pain !! After about 3 years, they removed them all. Once he recovered from the 3 surgeries, he has been virtually pain free. That was over 20 years ago.
So, I'm praying that you have the same results. I know it doesn't help much, but know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.
I hope you have a good day love.
  25. Thank you, Hon....I honestly thought the hardware was there to stay; I sure didn't want to get cut up again, but sheesh...the pain is telling me otherwise. I've heard that there's quite a lovely relief when they're finally out, so fingers crossed!
You have yourself a lovely day, Sweetie!!
  26. I wish, it's been pouring for hours. At least it's not snow !!
  27. A little rough weather your way, Hon? Well that's GOT to be the last of it, right? Absolutely!
  28. Thanks for sending that pic. She's so cute. It's sunny, but really cold here today.
