Nope, no doll. DD doesn't have a special one either. She has lots of dolls but not a favourite.

Nope no dolls. Dolls freak me right out. I had a clown stuffie, my mom still has it - looking at it now, it is just as creepy looking as as it sounds.

I had what I think was called a 'walking' doll. She was pretty tall.
The coolest part for me was that her eyes closed when she was lying down!
I named her Sierra - this would have been late '60s, must have gotten that name from a book, I would think.
Found this online, pretty close to what she looked like - but she didn't have bangs, just long hair.
I wanted her to have bangs, so I did cut them - and they just poked straight up, gah!
I remember wrapping her in a baby blanket (mom must have just given me some fabric), and carrying her around, putting her to sleep, etc.
I really had wanted a baby doll (my older sister had two, actually), and always thought my doll was too grown up.
I don't remember having too many different dresses for her, but mom was a sewer and probably made some.
I absolutely loved taking her for sleigh rides in the winter. Dad would get me a box, I'd put that on the back of the sled, put the doll in, cover her up so she wouldn't be cold, and we'd go for a long walk in the snow.

I was more of a teddy bear girl, but I do have a birthday pic of me with girlfriends, all dressed up in our pretty party dresses, with me holding a lovely bride doll. I look to be about 8 years old. Times sure have changed! Lol!

Lynn, and I never had a teddy bear!
Oooo, a bride doll would have been the envy of any of us - all little girls I knew wanted one!

I was a tomboy from day one so I never had the slightest interest in dolls, dresses, nuthin! I had 2 sisters that were considered " motherly material " and so they immersed themselves in that while I ran around skinning my knees. On the other hand though, very strange when I had my own DD, SHE was all about dolls!! One soft small one ( Mimi ) she slept with since birth and DH had to go back to a restaurant to retrieve it when she left her on the seat. What a rescue that was!

I know, crazy, huh? Is there such a thing as a bride doll these days? That actually sell? Lol. Yes, I was the only one who had one, so I guess it was special...it was SO long ago, I barely remember!
I'm sorry you never had a teddy bear....Mine was white and my best nighttime friend...it loved being hugged to sleep...

I had a cabbage patch doll (but don't ask me which one, I forget now) that I really loved! I also had a lot of barbies and my sister and I always got the special edition holiday barbies for Christmas. Sometimes I wish I would have held onto them but I'm not so sure the boys would be very interested lol.
Speaking of my boys, DS#1 has had a brown, stuffed puppy since he was 2 that he still sleeps with today, at 11 years old... but I'm not supposed to tell anyoneSoft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur... happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr

Lynn, I made up for it by getting my own stuffies once I was grown up!
sheets - my son had his faves, too - one of which he made sure he took with him when he moved out.

I didn't have a special doll. In fact, my sister had one of the talking Cricket dolls that had the cassette player in her back. Her eyes freaked me out. I was terrified of it. I generally find dolls creepy looking, lol- too many horror movies I guess.

I remember standing in line at 6:30am at a store here, now closed, for a Cabbage Patch doll for our DD! I remember the staff were handing them out willy-nilly and I snagged (literally) a cute red-haired one with her hair up in pooks (well, that's what we used to call 2 pony tails...lol).
Some dolls are creepy, but clowns? ALWAYS creepy!
