I did not receive a PM from you indicating she would not be back to check for awhile? Would not be back to SC or the country? Simply receiving my end of the trade does NOT constitute a positive trade as far as I'm concerned - So because I received my end of trade and was courteous enough to leave a rating indicating that I received it I am not able to have it changed to reflect NO trade - which is essentially what has happened. The fact that she is out of country for months at a time isn't my responsibility and not my problem. I don't want other SCers to think i had a positive trade with her as it has been anything but beyond initial receipt of GC which went right back to her along with 4x$10 Pampers. She has not been courteous enough to even reply to my PM asking if it's been received.

Update on Nephora:
I have just had a pm from Nephora.
She said she "lost the envie then everything went crazy with christmas".
She offered me to choose some coupons from the list she just posted to make up for the envie.
I'll update this when I receive her end of the trade. Tkx.

I got the exact same message from her. This is the second time I got the same message.

Just want to double check before going ahead...a newbie larosa2001 traded once only in march but I we are trading FPc Natrel Baboo almost others, and since it's time sensitive, I figured I'll just go for it..any bad news in the past on her? Just double checking..she isn't on the blacklist...

You indicated that you knew she would not be back for some time in a PM which is why I did not reply again and I am not going to keep discussing this on the forums. She is away and so not trading but had your end of the trade shown up within a reasonable amount of time, she would have received it when in the country and left feedback.

People need to be leaving feedback when they receive, if you both wait for the other person to receive, some feedback will never be left. She DID uphold her end of the trade, even if you later returned it because you did not have replacement coupons.

Sometimes I think that people should receive harsher punishments than just negative ratings, perhaps if people are going to cheat others then they should be banned.

Given how large the site has grown recently , perhaps reviewing the trading rules needs to be done in consultation with active members giving thier input along side Boo and the mods.

I thought Sally had said that if a trader ignores PMs from a mod then they were banned. Clearly she is ignoring PMs if not fulfilling trades. Although, really banning is not that much of a deterent. They can either make a new user id, or just browse without even being a member.

That is under the section of scammers and clearly says that not everyone who does not send a trade is a scammer. The police would not take it seriously if we reported everyone who did not make good on a trade, it does need to be kept for mass issues like the kcup scam

First, banning does not help as they can come back with a new user ID (and no we can't ban IPs as many users have dynamic IPs which change very regularly so the person who did not honour the trade would have a new IP soon and a good user would end up with theirs and be blocked from the forum). It is better to know who they are than not. As we all know some non banned bad traders have made new accounts, but we don't want to encourage it by banning their original.

There are very few traders in the past who have been banned from the forum, and if you search the thread you will see comments from previous trade mods when asked why they were not banned (and if they are just browsing, they can do that logged out right, so what punishment is banning them?). On occasion, some bad traders have eventually "come back" to SC and finally made good on their trades. Their negatives stayed on their account but people got something back. Banning members does away with all of that too

Finally, just because it shows someone as having logged in, if they have not posted, it doesn't mean they were actually here. I leave SC logged in on my laptop and have it as a favourite in speeddial, it shows me as having been on SC when I open a new window and speeddial grabs a fresh screenshot of the page

I am putting sweet_mommy trade in this area of SC (rather than PM) because the positive trade rating looks as though I have had a positive with her but I have not. I think other Scers should be aware of that when considering trade.

1. She was in the United States when we negotiated trade
2. She did send GC to me
3. She did not receive 4x$10 Pampers from me
4. I could have easily replaced coupons but I decided to simply return her GC as I've never had a trade not received and found the whole thing odd
5. She agreed to receive her GC back only to later tell me she would be leaving for India
6. She never indicated she wouldn't be able to tell if it came back in fact she clearly said she will let me know when it gets "there".
7. She has not responded to my PMs since
8. I do not want anyone to think I had a good trade experience with her
9. I never have received returned mail on the 4x$10 pampers

If she simply told me that she was going to be away for an extended period of time that would be one thing. To blatantly disregard my PMs indicates there is something weird going on. If she wasn't able to fulfill trade (leaving feedback for me and confirming she finally received GC) then she shouldn't be trading at all. Simple as that.
