i think in regards to waiting for someone to reply, that you can't always go by when they are online... personally i appear to be online a lot more than i actually am, as i often leave up smart canucks on my browser, and when ever anyone uses my laptop they open it up, and there is sc, saying that i am online, when i am not really

Its imperative you go over blacklist addresses when you trade with a new user. I can't help if you do not check it over.

What do you do with a rider who says they sent an envie but you haven't received it and he/she also has missing envies on multiple trains? Do you leave a neutral?

Aggravates me because if you know you aren't going to send your envie, why join in the first place?

I would leave a neutral, especially if you haven't received it in a reasonable amount of time. If for some reason you receive it well after an expected time period, and it is NOT postmarked, how are you to even know they mailed it in a timely fashion. I would leave a neutral, but I also don't know how it is supposed to work, but I would think if that doesn't get a neutral, I don't know what would?

It is very hard to tell when an envie was posted, 80% of the envies that I receive are not postmarked at all, many with a line in pen only drawn through the stamps. When I mail and use stamps that I have on hand I get the envie hand postmarked, if a metered stamp was used the date is on it. I prefer the metered stamp as the ink does not smudge, and the date is very visible.

I hate to say it, but some seem to join this site with no intention of honoring trades or trains, just as way to get coupons and to scam, cheat and lie.

When you PM someone at the very bottom is a box you can click that says request a read receipt, then you would know if they read it. Although I don't know if that would really work, since I can read all the messages from my erosional email, and never gave to login here to read them.
