califlower
very easy....
mirco wave califlower half cooked, throw in oven proof dish toss in a can of mushroom soup with a little milk to make it thinner but not to thin... you can also put some cheese in this if you like pop it in your oven while cooking your meat
i,e. pork chops sprinkle the top with bread crumbs this is really good there is enough sauce left over to put on pork chops or mashed potatoes
this is stupid easy to do ....

My husband doesn't like pumpkin pie (!!?!!), so I made a quick no-bake cheesecake.
Easy Cheesecake
---
Crust:
1 1/2 cups graham crumbs
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup sugar
Mix together, press into a 9" pie plate, bake at 350 degrees 10 minutes.
Let cool.
Filling:
250g package cream cheese (regular brick), softened
1 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup whipping cream OR 1 package Dream Whip, prepared.
Do cream first (so you don't have to wash beaters for later step!). If using whipping cream, whip til fairly stiff peaks, add about 1/4 cup sugar, or to taste. If using packaged whipped topping, prepare as directed.
In another bowl, beat together cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla - til smooth. FOLD in the whipped cream til both are blended together, don't stir, you want it fluffy.
Put filling on crust, chill pie.
To serve, add some any type of topping or fruit you wish.

I'm going to my friend's for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow & bringing French salad (cause it's idiot proof & I'm an idiot in the kitchen
).
French Salad
2 cans peas & carrots, drained
2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
2 tablespoons mayonaise
Dump everything into a bowl & mix.
Keep chilled.
Serves about 6.
You can add more mayo if you like things really creamy, I like to just barely cover everything with a light coating.
It looks quite pretty (I'll try to remember to take a pic tomorrow when I make it) & is quick & easy. One of my friends knows it as Russian Salad.

For leftover turkey...
Turkey a la King
2 Tablespoons oil
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced mushrooms (or one can, drained)
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
2 egg yolks
2 cups diced cooked turkey
salt, pepper, garlic powder, dill...
Saute onions and mushrooms in oil til tender. Stir in flour and cook two minutes to brown flour a bit. Add milk slowly, and stir til it has thickened. Stir in the egg yolks (carefully!).
Add turkey and seasonings - and cook just til turkey is heated through.

Love this thread, but won't be much help. I love to cook, but I never go by a recipe, just by eye and taste, a bit of this, and a handful of that. But will try to be more exact and type a couple in. They all sound good so far.

Crepes
Crepe is basically a very thin cooked pancake. This is a simple recipe that can be turned into both savory and sweet crepes.
I make this when we have guest, its fast and easy and you can fill them with a variety of filllings - jams, sugar and crushed walnuts, chocolate spreadlike Nutella. Enjoy!!
Flour: 1 cup
Eggs: 2
Milk: 1 cup
Water: 1/2 cup
Butter: 1 tbsp, melted
Salt: a pinch
Sugar: 1 tbsp
Directions:
Mix milk, eggs, flour, water, butter, and a pinch of salt. Use a mixer if you have one, lump free is the key.
Heat a lightly buttered or oiled non-stick skillet. Pour 1/4 cup crepe mixture into it and spread evenly. Cook for 1 minute on medium-high heat or until bubbles start to burst the crepe surface. Flip and cook for 30 more seconds. Repeat with the remaining batter.
I stack all of the crepes while I am cooking and then when I am done I do the fillings. When I have guest I mix it up and do a variety of fillings.

Roast Lamb with garlic spinach and white beans this is tonights dinner havnt tired it yet ill update you guys
Ingredients:
Beans
- 2 cups dried white kidney beans, soaked in cold water overnight
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 2 tbsp chopped thyme leaves
- 4 sprigs rosemary
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
Lamb
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tbsp chopped rosemary
- 1 tbsp chopped thyme
- 3 heads garlic cut in half
- 1 x (4 lb) leg of lamb
Spinach
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 cups baby spinach
Directions:
Beans
- Heat oil in pot on medium heat. Add onions and cook for 5 minutes or until softened. Add thyme, rosemary and beans. Stir to distribute flavour.
- Pour in enough water to cover the beans by 1 inch. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and cook 45 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally or until beans are tender. Add more water if beans become too dry. Season well with salt and pepper and beat together for a few minutes so they become a little creamy.
Lamb
- Preheat oven to 450 F.
- Rub lamb with 1 tbsp olive oil, thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper. Place lamb, fat side up, in a metal roasting pan and bake for 20 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350 F.
- Remove lamb from pan and reserve.
- Add white beans to pan and toss with juices. Nestle garlic heads into beans and drizzle everything with remaining 3 tbsp olive oil.
- Place lamb on top of beans and bake for 1 hour longer or until lamb juices are just pink. You may need to add a bit more water as the lamb is cooking so that the beans don't dry out.
- Remove lamb and garlic from pan. Let lamb rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Spinach
- Place roasting pan over medium heat and add spinach to beans. Stir together until spinach wilts 2 to 3 minutes.
- Slice lamb and serve with beans and a half head of garlic per person.

Morning stuff too: from bulk barn I like to buy dried cranberries and some ground flax seed and then add about a tablespoon of both to my morning cereal with 1% milk. The cranberries add flavour and the flax will help you with your health (plus it doesn't taste like anything) will add pic later
