Today I bought a coffee crips milkshake from a Centex gas station in Calgary. I chugged the entire container before realizing it tasted really wierd. I t did not tast like coffee crisp, or like chocolate. I cant really describe its nastiness fully.

I looked at the date, which to my disgust read 2008!!!! I cant make out if it is from MA22 or SE14, but the year is definitly 2008.

I am also 8 months pregnant. My stomach was extremely upset and my unborn child was moving around different and was obviously affected by it too.

I went back to the Centex and was heckled by the employees, for my complaint. They could have and should have told me to speak with the next manager on shift.

As far as Nestle goes, this is the second time in a year I have got a bad product from them, only last time the date was at least correct.

I believe it is up to the business stocking the product to ensure that expired items are replaced before someone purchases it. I would contact the manager if I were you. I hope you and your baby are feeling better.

I would still complain to Nestle...they choose where their products are sold and should stand behind their product anyhow....Keep us posted...I hope that youbaby are feeling better...so sorry to hear this happened to you..

I would write Nestle as well, because I am very sure they would like to know that their product is being sold when it was clearly expired.
I wrote a company once after buying spoiled milk. They replied twice asking several questions, and were tracking it to see if there was a problem at store level or with their delivery trucks ect. The milk I got was chunky like cottage cheese. Never seen anything like it before, so I sent a picture of it with my email.LOL

Not entirely the same thing, but we bought a pepsi one day. I opened it and it was completely flat and smelled funny, we did not drink any. There was no expiry date but Under the cap was a contest expiry date that showed a date over 2 years back. So the pop was probably produced even months before that. Someone from pepsi came to our place and went down and bought a bunch of pepsi and brought it in to have it checked. A few days later they called back that the store was going to get a warning and risk not being able to sell pepsi products if they did not clean up their act because almost 1/2 of the pepsi product they had was old.

Opps, forgot to mention, I then went down to the store and they were pulling all their pepsi from the fridges. I just bought a chocolate bar and left but had a huge smile on my face because something had been done.

it's not Nestle's fault but I do think they should know that this gas station is selling expired product, so many places sell expired food and get away with it, it's gross, that's why i always check expiry dates.

These experiences are awful. Convenience stores, gas stations, and dollar stores should be held to account if they are selling expired product. Any store can miss a product or two for a couple of days but 8 months? Two years? Gross!

It's not actual milk, so I don't think I would check the product date either. But it's the once bitten twice shy rule. I am sure that the OP will be checking it everytime now.

BTW, if you are preggers you should go get checked out by a doctor. Especally if you start vomiting or have diarehea. Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep the bottle as proof. No bottle and your complaint will most times go unheard. They usually ask you to send it in. I got KD coverered in mold once and they asked me to send back the box.

I wouldn't blame nestle as its not stocked by Nestle, its stocked by the particular store.

Things like Pepsi, are stocked by reps, but not this product that was bad.

I'd contact head office of the store.

(as usual) I agree 100% with Sally (that's why she luvs me)
It's completely the stores fault. And I would try and have it sorted out by the store.

You can expect Nestle to track every mom&pop shop or every corner store. That's not even possible.

I hope you are feeling better now, and so sorry this happened to you!!

gross gross gross! Definitely the store's fault, not Nestle's. I would definitely go back to the store, complain to the manager AND tell her/him how the employees treated you. Keep the bottle as proof.

And as for not checking the expiry, I always forget to check the expiry on things (except for actual jugs or bags of milk). You don't expect to be buying something that is that far past expiry....
