..we have a storm approaching for the next couple of days..20+cm of snow
SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Issued at 15:50 Monday 22 April 2019
Winter weather returns Tuesday night into Wednesday with an extended period of snow, freezing rain, and ice pellets.
A low pressure system will bring a variety of winter precipitation for most of Newfoundland Tuesday night into Wednesday. Precipitation will begin as rain or snow in the southwest Tuesday evening. The precipitation will spread northeastwards throughout the night as it changes to snow or freezing precipitation.
By Wednesday morning, precipitation will primarily be snow or ice pellets in the northeast and freezing rain over the Avalon Peninsula and south coast of the Island. A mixture of snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, and rain is expected along the West Coast through the day on Wednesday, while southern and eastern parts of the Island could see a change over to rain.
This weather system is forecast to pull out to sea Wednesday night as a second, less intense, system approaches from the southwest.
Current guidance suggests that significant snowfall amounts are possible over the Northeast while significant ice accumulation is likely over the South Coast and eastern Newfoundland.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as winter-related warnings will likely be issued.

@KelJo such a gorgeous photo! Hope you weather the storm okay.
It's plus two now, going up to 16. Was 20 yesterday.
More big winds today, awful brush fires in rural areas nearby.
Going to be cooling down, snow and/or rain by weekend - no one complaining, we really need precip.

I'm back in the Great White North.
Well I made it the whole 1300 miles (including the miles when I was temporarily disoriented
((no comments from the peanut gallery)) without so much as a drop of rain hitting me).
The last hundred miles was the worst on the I90 from Cleveland with a cold wind
blowing across the still frigid Lake Erie. Brrrrrrrrrrrr...........
Traveled mostly on Highway 23 N , without the radio on.
My six carburetors were not happy climbing the mountains.
The high elevations thinned out my air fuel mixture.

Daffodils getting ready to bloom, peace bridge in the background.
Water's still too chunky to swim in.
Niagara River picks up speed just before the Whirlpool.
Hey man it's time to split.

Great photos @rock lobster !
Minus two here, going to six.
Temps below normal through the weekend.
Still hoping for moisture in any form; the six snowflakes that fell yesterday don't really count!
