I didn't see sunshine for 52 days from Nov.1 to Dec. 22 one year.
That's when I decided to move to Florida even if I had to
live in a grass hut on the beach.

I feel for you. If i go a longtime without seeing the sun in winter it really starts to get to me. We had some sun today, but the windchill and blowing snow was brutal, so I could only enjoy the sun through my windows

Significant snowfall expected.
Total snowfall: 10 to 20 cm with more possible.
Maximum wind gusts: Northwesterly 60 to 80 km/h for eastern Newfoundland early Christmas morning.
Locations: most of Newfoundland.
Time span: Monday evening (Tibb's Eve), Christmas Eve and early Christmas Day.
Remarks: Snow is expected to begin over southwestern Newfoundland Monday evening and spread across most of Newfoundland on Tuesday. Snow and strong northwesterly winds will make for poor driving conditions for northeastern and eastern Newfoundland for Christmas Day morning.

The storm has started, its snowing, the ground is covered with white, an old fashioned stormy Christmas on tap. I love it!
Winter Storm Warning
Issued at 05:41 Tuesday 24 December 2019
SummaryA prolonged period of hazardous winter conditions is expected.
Total snowfall: 30 to 40 cm.
Maximum wind gusts: northwesterly 80 km/h.
Time span: this morning until Boxing Day night.
Locations: Gander and northeastern Newfoundland.
Remarks: Snow, at times heavy, will begin this morning and continue into tonight. The snow will become lighter and more intermittent on Christmas Day, before a second round of heavy snow sets in by the morning of Boxing Day.
Gusty northeasterly winds will develop tonight and strengthen to strong northwesterlies with gusts to 80 km/h overnight. The strong northwesterlies will then persist through Boxing Day.

Summary
Very large waves, pounding surf and elevated sea water levels are expected later this week.
Wave heights: 7 to 9 metres, breaking upon approach to shore.
Locations: east and northeast coasts of Newfoundland.
Time span: Thursday and Friday.
Remarks: a prolonged period of strong winds will cause very large waves to build later this week. Storm surge and coastal flooding may occur along shorelines exposed to the north and northeast, especially near the high tides.
The highest water levels are expected to occur on Friday morning, but vulnerable areas may become susceptible to flooding as early as the Thursday morning high tide.

So much for the big storm, all we got was the wind!! only a trace of snow...I waited and waited for the big snowfall but nothing!! not even 5-10cm. Today -5 feels like -12, calm & sunny with 5cm of snow for this evening..or they could wrong about that too!!

Areal Flood Advisory, Coastal Hazard Statement
Issued: 3:32 PM EST Dec. 28, 2019 – National Weather Service
The National Weather Service in Miami has extended the
* flood advisory for...
northeastern Palm Beach County in southeastern Florida...
* until 645 PM EST.
* At 330 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
minor flooding in the advisory area. Over three inches of rain
have already fallen across a widespread portion of northeastern
Palm Beach County today.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
West Palm Beach, Wellington, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens and Lake
Worth.
Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is possible over the area in
the next few hours with locally higher amounts possible.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of canals
and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well
as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely. You can also send flood reports to NWS Miami on
facebook and twitter.

Snowfall warning for my area for the next 36 hours or so....it is coming down about 1 inch an hour now.
