Thank you so much, that's very kind of you.
Yes, that's my Quincy cat. My Lily dog convinced a little feral kitten to come home with us. I tried to find him a good home, but....suffice to say, we were the only ones he didn't try to kill. Now, he's a big baby who does dog tricks & loves going for bus rides with me. He sleeps in my purse, then every so often pops his head out & looks around. He seems to love it when people scream "OMG, a cat! In a purse!"

In the Barrister’s Chambers (open to U.S. citizens only one per household)
Lady Evelyn Darlington’s first love was the law. But since a woman scholar meets nothing but ridicule from men, she has given up and chosen a future husband. Randolph seems adequate for the task: to provide intelligent conversation and not annoy her too much. Of course, before they can be engaged, she’ll have to do something about the murder charge hanging over his head. If only London’s top barrister wasn’t Jack Harding, object of all her unattainable girlhood fantasies… Jack Harding remembers Evelyn well—but the idea that the gorgeous woman standing before him is little Evie, the professor’s daughter, is incredible. He knows better than to enter a business relationship when he wants to pursue pleasure. Yet however desirable she is now, Evie is still Evie—stubborn, smart, and never willing to take no for an answer. Even though proving her fiancé’s innocence might just cost her her own! Click here for more details!

Thank you for your good wishes Noodge, rebate queen, Star84, user-id and Zoodle on my trip to NYC.
I returned yesterday evening and was totally exhausted! It was a great trip. Everything went so well, my friend couldn't believe it. From customs at the Montreal airport leaving to our arrival back everything went smoothly, virtually no waiting (probably because we were incredibly early for everything!). We had a car waiting for us at La Guardia Airport in NYC to take us to the hotel (Hilton's Doubletree in Chelsea - with warm chocolate chip cookies every day) and on our return home, as well as a car to bring us to the restaurant Artichoke Pizza before the party (with a $50 certificate to spend there) and pick us up at the Club next door where it was held.
The Perrier party was held at French Tuesdays / Club Perrier.
We had V.I.P. passes provided and were escorted to our reserved table. On the table was an ice bucket made of ice which held a bottle of Moet Chandon Champagne (it was delicious! I see it went for $110 a bottle). They told us we could also have a bottle of vodka ($210 a bottle), but we declined - I'm not sure that we even finished the Champagne. The party was unlike any I've ever been to; there were 2 clear glass booths each with a girl dancing in their sexy underwear, all evening - poor girls. All the waitresses wore half masks. There was also a woman in a belly dancing outfit with a snake, a guy wearing a gas mask, guys who had designs painted in silver on their chests in place of shirts, a little "S & M" tableau of 2 women- 1 with a whip, etc. The band playing was from Montreal like me and they were great. The videos below are not from our party, but they give you a little idea of how unusual it was. They had left a welcome basket in my hotel room with a bottle of Chandon Champagne, a little bottle of Perrier water, a beautiful cloth bag with Perrier and a design on it, a large Perrier towel - for the beach perhaps, good quality and a few small gifts and snacks.

We went out for lunch to the Original Soup Man (Seinfeld's Soup Nazi) amazing soup, they have 3 of them in NYC and to dinner one night to Chipolte (an amazing Mexican restaurant where everything is made fresh - Oprah even enjoys their food. You feel very safe everywhere you go - there are cops everywhere - I have never seen so many. Of course, it was UN week and President Obama as well as many world leaders were there so I'm sure that's why there were so many.
Unfortunately, you need a number and reservation to see the 9/11 Memorial which is booked until mid-November and I didn't see a play as there aren't many on Monday nights, no matinees on Tuesday and we went to the party on Tuesday so that evening was out.
Now I'm just waiting to see if they send me the $500 prize money before my credit card bill arrives.
I hope you all get to experience a great win like I did.Last edited by Pearls; Thu, Sep 22nd, 2011 at 02:55 PM.
