yes @francine1985 We had no issue for many years buying one of those " utility birds " to save the most money.
Our thinking was the bird gets carved up, who'd miss a wing?
However, all that changed the first year we bought a Butterball. I must admit I did NOTHING except stuff it and shove it in the oven. The bird never needed to be basted or anything.
The whole family raved at not only the flavour but the incredible moistness of both the white and dark meat. That was it....we never again bought any other brand.

I've enjoyed cooking the larger birds more in the past (9 -11 kg range, ) but I find these 5 -7 offerings are only good if you don't want leftovers...lol.

I admire the practicality of the way you share the tasks during your Holiday meals. Have a wonderful Dec 25th this year!!

We got 2 free chapman calendars on Friday even though we order the 3 per household limit… it’s fine though, we’ll put one in the kitchen and one in ds2’s room. (Ds1 wants a fortnite calendar so we might buy him one after all)

Not exactly Mail but dh bought 2 family size boxes of cinnamon toast crunch because the specially marked free scarf boxes we’re almost gone. I was able to order my fourth and final scarf. As previously mentioned I already got my taco scarf. Now I’m waiting for ds2’s lucky charms scarf and the cheerios and now nature valley tree scarf. (I’ll let dh and ds1 decide who gets which one. Me and ds2 were the only ones who cared what we got lol.)
