The in-laws etransfered money for Christmas. The kids each got to order a customized Xbox controller. Dh is spending his on dental work. (Yesterday was X-rays and a checkup. Tomorrow will be work on a tooth that will either need a filling or a root canal. Then he will need some other less urgent work done over the next few months… our dentist direct bills our insurance provider which covers 90% of book value, so we only pay about 10% and don’t have to worry about filing the paperwork.)

I haven’t spent my share yet but will likely spend it on clothes (possibly including a couple jackets) at Pennington’s. I got an email with a 20$ coupon for spending 500$ in a year and a 25$ coupon for spending 750$ in a year. I have never even reached the 500$ threshold before this year. (200$ was always covered by my dad because he would give me 100$ gift card for my birthday and 100$ gift card for Christmas lol)

Service Ontario letter (it misses my money) requesting online renewal of my id with fee plus any outstanding fees. Stated I can renew online and get old picture used on new id.
No-if I have to spend money on new id, I want a new photo. Provided I can still walk in January when I intend to renew the card or forget about it.

I haven’t opened it yet to make sure the order was right, I want to wait until the kids aren’t home… My children’s place order finally arrived today after taking a very long scenic route. It was picked up from Ontario on Nov. 15, went all the way to Calgary Alberta on Nov. 20th, went to Montreal Quebec on Nov. 23rd, made it to Dieppe New Brunswick on Nov. 25th before finally being delivered today in Moncton New Brunswick!

That happened to me two years ago, I sent a parcel to Alberta and it ended up in Moncton, than was held in Montreal for three weeks and finally delivered. As I have a Canada Post account I did get the shipping credited back to me but it hardly accounted for the frustration as it was Christmas gifts.

Yesterday I got a Christmas card and my first General Mills free (taco) scarf that I ordered back in October. (I am waiting on my second <lucky charms> scarf that I ordered mid late November… I have 1/2 codes to order a 3rd scarf which will probably be Cheerios.)

This is hardly a brag because the price now for a Butterball turkey has gotten ridiculous. Despite that I got it for free by redeeming 570 AM at Metro. ( a roughly 16 pound bird cost $48.54 !! )

That’s why when we actually buy a turkey we usually get whatever generic brand turkeys Walmart has for the 20$ flat rate. My mom usually buys our food for Easter, thanksgiving, and Christmas. My husband cooks it all and my mom and little sister eat here. With the Covid restrictions and increased cases this year my mom either gives us grocery gift cards or cash to buy it ourselves and we pack ziplock containers with the dinner and baked goods/desserts for my sister to pick up and bring back to their place. (They only live a few blocks from us.)
