I got three wisdom teeth taken out this afternoon
Luckily I was out for the whole procedure, and I felt no pain afterward, BUT OMG do I ever feel it now. I finally got up the courage to try eating something. I thought pudding was a smart idea. Maaaaaybe not, seeing as it went everywhere, including my lap. I can't even feel my bottom lip, so maybe you can imagine
Kind of scary really, and jello wasn't much better. As soon as I tried to get some sleep after that, the pain kicked in 10 fold. My right side is soooo swollen. You'd laugh if you saw me right now... I'm using a hairband to hold a bag of frozen pees to my jaw
I'd take a picture, but I actually hope to take part in trades and trains one day
When is this tylenol with codeine gonna kick in??!?! Aaah!
Anyway, I'm trying to distract myself, so here I am, my new favourite place on the web. Since these silly teeth are called WISDOM teeth, how about sharing a random fact or piece of wisdom. It can be anything from wombats have 18 toes (no idea if this is true) to use garlic to freshen up your house (I honestly don't recommend this). You get the idea! Or you can just share a rant about your own experiences with wisdom teeth

oh my, I totally feel for you, I had my 4 wisdom teeth taken out when I was 18, and same as you, I was out for the whole proceedure, but holy moly pain afterwards! I lost 10 lbs that week from not feeling like eating...I had ice on my jaw everyday too, but mine was in a glad bag in a sock, lol...
How about this random fact: there are over 100 species of bats native to BC...(according to my son, lol)

Ahhhh that's awful. When I got mine out I went to a punk show a few days later (luckily the club was cool enough to have couches and I passed out on one), and then went to a course I was taking pt at Carleton university (in my year after hs) I was in a newer room with a slope, swivel chairs and a long desk that goes across, and i totally passed out and fell through to the next level of chairs, smoking the girl in front of my with Doc Martens. I was so effin' cool. I only went 'cause i had to hand in a paper proposal and my TA was like oh you should have just emailed it and stayed home (so much for all those evil things my hs teachers said about professors and TA's not caring about your physical condition!!!!).
Anyways, I had an awful experience after gettin' mine out, in which all the muscles around my jaw tightened, and I eventually (3 years later) had to get physio to undo all the stress on it (i could only open my mouth 30 mm). But i wouldn't be concerned about this until a month after gettin' yer teeth yanked, and I've never really heard of this happening to anyone else!
Anyways, if the codeine don't work, I got's some percocets from my surgery last year
they work wellllllll.

haha I love those weird laws. Apparently it is also illegal to kill a Sasquatch in BC

10 Pounds? Ouch! I bought all this yummy stuff to make smoothies and milkshakes for myself but I don't know how much of it will get used
I was also told to avoid milk in regards to nausea right now (kinda felt it from the pudding). I might have to steal the sock idea once I have more feeling in my face again
I had no idea there were so many species there. To think I never even saw one when I lived in BC!
Thanks! That one about b&w/colour tv's and dreaming is interesting. I guess people dream about television a lot?

I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out, I chose the sleeping gas.
to me it didn't hurt that much, hurted less than i thought it would feel. I was suppose had taken Tylenol 3 once a day for pain but i didn't ... i just put ice packs to my mouth and had ice cubes in my mouth.

You know, I'm kind of bummed because they wouldn't let me keep them! I had a molar removed years ago which I was allowed to keep, but they told me they don't let people keep them anymore unless they're kids because it's 'unsanitary'. What is so unsanitary about giving me back my own teeth? o_O Kind of odd if you asked me... Of course I would of washed them!
But I'm not sure about making jewelery with em hahah
lawl, Oh my about your class experience! But ouch on the jaw things =( I'm glad you were able to get physio for it.The only thing I was warned about was the possibility of completely losing feeling in my lips or mouth, because it's a little more risky because of my age. Pretty scary what with my bottom lip being completely numb still, but I guess it's normal for that to last a few days.

Aww, thank-you Natalka

lawl I learned my lesson about biting myself after freezing when I was a kid, too... Never again! XD
And from what I was told, and in my experience... Wisdom teeth can cause problems even without growing in. Only one of mine had grown in, and only started to when I was 26. It was growing in sideways (towards my lip). The other two on the bottom were impacted (directly facing my other teeth), and one was pushing itself against my molar, which was pushing the gum away from it. Not nice!! So I just decided (as if I had much choice) to get rid of them all. Stupid unnecessary teeth! I wish I'd just done it earlier on as I think recovery is -usually- easier (26+ and you face more risk of complications).
I actually DO have a 4th wisdom tooth that came in, but the only reason that one isn't causing problems is because I needed to have a molar taken out years ago , so it replaced it.
