Rose, do you have any community theatre near you (most folks involved in theatre have other talents - one of the folks I hang out with at the theatre is an accomplished photographer). Or night school photography course, maybe?
It`s cheap enough to have simple 8x10s made (Walmart, Supercentre both do a decent job printing photos). Also, most cameras come with a software package that lets you switch to black & white (for headshots, do both colour & b/w, at least that`s what the actors I know have). Some cameras have that feature built in.
You can even take a so-so picture & if you crop & frame it right, it will work. If you don`t have access to lighting, backdrops, etc, try to take something outside (once you`re no longer buried in snow). Don`t stand against anything white (big no no), a brick wall works great. I took a photography course years ago, I`m just trying to remember some of the tips.
Just curious, how did you hear about the audition? Is it an open call?
At any rate, break a leg! But without falling apart, please. Leave that to me, Ì`m getting used to it.
Hope you feel better. & try not to get buried under the snow we`re all expecting.

Was out watching Xmas Carol at the theatre. Never really liked any of the film versions (yes, I'm a philistine), but love the stage version. This was my second time seeing it this year (I'm sooo lucky to have the theatre connections I do), & had seen it a half dozen times 2 years ago when they last performed it.
When I got home, the crazy cat was sleeping in the bathroom sink (used to do that as a kitten). He was too cosy to move, but I wanted to wash my hands. I turned the tap on (nice warm water) & he gave me the death stare, but wouldn`t budge. He finally realized that the water was coming out of the tap, muttered something that no doubt should not be spoken in mixed company, & jumped onto the bench I have in the front hall to fix his hairstyle. Vanity, thy name is cat.
Been trying to vote since I got home (had no time earlier, so lots of work for me before bedtime).
Thanks for the words!! Been trying to give rep, but can't. Guess I don't get around enough.
Was checking the prizes & saw a Greetingstar.com coupon for 100 points, so I thought I'd see what it's all about. When checking out, the value jumped to 200 points. I logged off, then went back on, tried it again & it was back to 100 points. Just a heads up, if something might be a bit wonky, try again.
Hope everyone has a good night.

Glad you had fun Haunish! Too bad about the allergy though ......
I agree with Andit, look around for a photographer ... does anyone teach photography ... they'll help you out, or do you have an art centre/gallery, usually someone there does photography .... you really need to get a promo pkg together ... you are selling yourself! (in a postive way! lol)
Don't even know what 7 lbs. is about and Im a big Will Smith fan!

Well, we are under a heavy wind and snow warning in my little corner of Nova Scotia. It's due to start later this afternoon/evening. I may not be able to make it to work tomorrow. Apparently it's going to be a REALLY nasty one.

With winds that high we'll no doubt lose powerOur neighbors have a generator though so that will be okay if it happens as we'll just go there....
If for some reason I don't make it back before Christmas, hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with your familiesI'll be spending it with my husband and friends as my husband's family is all in New York and mine, there's really not many. I'll be seeing my brother on Boxing Day for a few hours perhaps so that will be special

Good morning everyone!!
Quiet night last night.
It's snowing here again, and our furnace is on overdrive. Oh, well. Could be worse. At least the furnace is getting a little break in between runs.
Not too sure what is on the agenda today, so I will try to check-in from time to time.
Haun - hope DH feels better.

I want to make shortbread cookies for the holidays with sprinkles. Anyone know if I bake them with the sprinkles on or not? I am at a loss because I have never done it but I want the prinkles obviously to stick on but I am thinking if when they come out I put em on...will they stick?
Anyone have a good shortbread recipe? Could I use the one from the toblerone recipe I handed out just not put the chocolate?
