na it wasnrt shut off, its was -20 outside and kids just had thier coats on the pjs. this is the first time he got any kinda ticket in 5yreas! we will take it to court!

tell me why it isnt worth it?

if you can afford to take the day off, and have some place to drop off the kids, go and fight it. tell them you were running an errand, and the car was idling not parked. and if you weren't aware it was a fireroute, mention it. was it clearly marked? the vehicle wasn't unattended.

we had a problem with ppl parking out in front of the liquor store. and they got tons of tickets that day. hubby and i were laffing our asses off. i mean how stupid to park right infront of the liquor store? course it's a bad spot because that's where a would be robber would park! that would make for one expensive case of beer.

and cops were issuing tickets for ppl idling and parking. because they don't believe anyone is going to pick up on the technicality and fight it.

DH is in the car , car running kids in their carseat , sign said fire route and he just stopped few moments before the cop came , I was getting off when we saw him entering the lot , DH said he came right towards him he said you are parked at fire route Dh said I am not parked i have stopped , while he was saying this the cop was busy printing the ticket no warning no show me your license ect.{ as I said we are new to being stopped by a cop , first ticket ever since he started driving here in canada} I do admit he might have got ticket for idling but that too is after 3 mins., we just came !

well, I think Mr.Harper's government has found another way to catch up on budget deficit! parking tickets!

crappy night, stopped at shoppers to get a prescription{it was ready and everything}, I got off the car hubby and kids were in ! saw a patrol car coming in the lot, didn't think much.........what do you know ! came back like not even 5mintues after and hubby has 250$ parking ticket! supposedly he is parked on the fire route! hello he has just stopped ! and is sitting in the car !!!!!!!!!!!!

was talking to my frnd about it , it seems nowadays they are giving tickets for idling like crazy , you go pick up kids from school , they pass by you don't even think about it but they come back and ticket you for idling ! freeze your ass out there but do not idle and create pollution!!!!!!!

I live down at the Distillery, & a couple of yrs ago the powers that be decided it would be a smart idea to charge for parking. & since I'm a half a block from the police station, we get parking folks coming every 20 minutes or so to give out tickets. The nutty neighbours without lives spend hours out front in the summertime watching unsuspecting folks get tagged.

Years ago I got nailed at a red light by a cop for having a tail-light out - somewhere in the 4 blocks between dropping my friend off & the light, I blew a fuse. How the is a person supposed to notice that when it wasn't even dark yet (sun was just going down, had 2 blocks to go to get home!). Got a ticket, went to auto shop the next day to get it fixed, usually they cancel the ticket, they didn't. 2 yrs later I was ready to go to court & they cancel the week before. Missed my opportunity to say how idiotic the ticket was!

Just thought of something else, it could be the mall (if it was on private property) making up rules as they go. Good luck in fighting it. Oh, & if it's not marked clearly as a fire route, make sure you have pix.

Looks like maybe you got a belated Valentine possibly? Don't people have until the 28th to use the free gift Winster gave out? What a nice surprise for you! I tried to give somebody a gift once and messed things up royally! LOL, wound up buying myself a teddy instead of the person I intended it for. Not fond of doing some things the first time - too hit n miss with me :-S

NSangel - I am probably misunderstanding, but did you win a laptop and why would you give it to Tom - or is that dh or ds? What is that magic-whatchamacallit? Are congrats in order for you?

Geez, I almost forgot!

Anybody wondering where or how Rockin' Kitty is doing, like I was, she is fine. No internet right now, had it turned off cuz she is getting ready for moving. I thought she moved already but a quick surprise PM says the deed is this weekend. It will be nice to have Rockin' Kitty around more often again. what to do when some words do work, like happymarriage worked for me but not Iampregnant?

1st thing you do is check and see if you claimed it already. go to word balance and look thru your list. i often go to the edit/find at the top of my toolbar and type the word in.

2nd thing, check your spelling.

3rd. is it expired?

4. if other ppl can't claim it either, and its not expired, wait a couple of days.

5. still not working? flip them an email, saying the word, and EXACTLY where it was found and they will correct it or give you a replacement word

btw, the word worked for me
