NO ONE is to mention slim jims... LOL
I love those things, and they don't sell them in Canada. I miss them terribly!
Damn american food that Canadians won't sell.
Harley, that chicken recipe looks DIVINE. I am totally trying that for supper tomorrow night, DH will love it, and if he doesn't, I will eat it ALL. Pregnant woman, coming through! I'm looking forward to all the treats this weekend, I can eat without guilt! Huzzah!
Off to finish cooking supper, I just missed you all and had to come read the messages.

Hey everyone! How are you all doing tonight? Hope you all had a great day! Apparently we have a snow storm on the way...yikes! I have to bring husband to work at 6am and then I have 2 clients tomorrow. Hope it won't be TOO bad!
I just wanted to tell you guys how I have the BEST boss in the world, the BEST job in the world and the BEST clients in the world! I just LOVE them to pieces! I bought them cozy sheets for Christmas and a few more doo-dads...one thing is to park in the front of their garage so they know they've driven in enough and the bumper bumps a little antennae type of pole and the stop sign light turns on! It's sort of cute and I know they'll enjoy that
So, anyways...my story! I got a Christams card yesterday from the client that just lost his wife back on October 27th. It was such a beautiful card to, he always chooses the ones that make me cry, you know the Hallmark or Carlton Card ones!! So, inside I found a $100 bill with a $100 Esso Gas Card. One week ago he gave me a $100 tip and two weeks before that he gave me a $100 tip! Lets not forget I get paid by the hour to be there and I work with him 18 hours/week! I told him if he doesn't stop spoiling me, I'm soon going to arrive with my belongings and move in!!!
So then my other client, the one I'm extremely close to, like a grandpa to me...he has no children at all and his wife passed away almost 3 years ago so he's completely alone...he's 89 and I worked with him till 3pm today. So, at about 4:30pm I hear a knock knock on the door so I flew downstairs and saw it was him! I had his gifts ready already (luckily!!!) and he had a large giftbag in his hand. He handed me that! There were two 3lb lobsters inside and two bottles of wine - 1 bottle of white, 1 bottle of red! So he says, check the wine labels to make sure they aren't wet. So after he left, I went to take the bottles out of the back and I checked the labels alright! On each label he had attached a $100 bill meaning one for me, one for Shaun! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! So we dropped by a bit ago to thank him and explain to him about his cozy sheets and the other stuff we got him Shaun doesn't even work for the company I work for and he gets gifts from them too! Sweet! So, I went and splurged and bought myself a new winter coat and some black suede gloves!
That's all I have to say! They are SPOILING me and I want them to stop! It makes me feel bad But, they are just so appreciative of everything I do for them...and it's a good feeling to know that they do appreciate it so much...they are so dependant on me from week to week
Holiday hugssss everyone and for those that aren't easily offended, Christmas hugsssss to you!!!!! I like Christmas hugs

I work for a small privately owned homecare company. My boss opened it up about 10 years ago and she's an LPN. I don't do personal care at all, it's my choice not to though. I just need to be qualified for CPR and First Aid. The veterans are sponsored through the DVA (Dep't of Veterans Affairs).
So, no, I don't believe it's part of the VIP program.
I hope I answered your question!
Hugsssss

Tina - I'm not surprised that your Vets spoiled you - you are there for them everyday no matter what the weather and they are showing how much they appreciate the great care and companionship you give them. It's great people like you that let our vets remain in their homes surrounded by all their memories instead of being put in a home when they are quite capable of living at home. Bless our vets and I hope they enjoy their Christmas
