Just a tip for the warmth, if they're wearing a skirt you can always layer tights or cover tights with tigh-high/knee-high socks. I always did that as a kid.
A pair of tights under pants is good to keep them warm too!
These costumes sound so cute

My 5 month old will be a Dragon (from old navy)....since its his aunt and grandmas bdays Oct 29 and 30, we will go out for dinner instead of staying home and have him dressed up there. The last year we only got 4 kids (down from 200) so i cannot tell how much candy to buy so leaving a container on my doorstep and going out.

This is DS first year with the trick or treating. He is going to be a pumpkin/jack o'lantern (thanks to great hunter orange cotton fabric I bought for $5.00). As he will be 16 mos old at the time- I am thinking of trying just a few houses and seeing how he does. He is very social. And he can't really eat the candy- so it more about the dressing up and going. (Lord knows I don't want the candy in the nouse- too much temptation! )

DD wants to be a werewolf this year - got her a werewolf wig but when she put it on, she looks like Elvis.... so I'm trying to convince her to be Werewolf Elvis, but she's not buying it. Also, her school has a 'no scary costume' Halloween party on Friday, which means TWO costumes!

Up here you MUST have a costume that you can wear over a full snowsuit. So I buy them several sizes too big, then pin it for school! We are on plan B as I couldn't find their first choices.
9yr old son-Harry Potter
4 year old daughter- Spiderman (I have no idea where this one came from)
1yr daughter (Tiger from Old Navy, her fits though since she is only wearing it at daycare)

I want to stay away from the cartoon characters, while I still have some input. Next year I'm sure DS#1 will decide what to be himself. This year he is going to be a fireman - the fireman's coat is big enough to go over his jacket. Hubby will drive him around to the houses of people we know. DS#2, being barely 3 months, is going to dress as a pumpkin and can stay home and answer the door with me.
