it was alotta work and alot of finger jabs from the lace (most of it had to be hand sewn on) but boy does she love it! twirling like mad a true little princess.. though i'm thinking i need to make her a cape to wear with it for the cooler weather while trick or treating

I was thinking that dress would just be for indoor wear.
Where I live, we have to plan Hallowe'en costumes so they can be used with a full winter jacket (or alternative) over or under!
It's always cold, sometimes it's raining, sometimes snowing by then!

Yup... on the prairies, kids need an indoor costume and an outdoor costume!

here it's rather mild temps gets a bit chill in the evening (depends on if it's a cloudy night or a starry night) we're going to be doing a malloween (mall trick or treating) then maybe a bit of outdoor in the evening (she's not quite 3 so shes not up for too long) i just hate to throw a modern jacket overtop such a dress (i know she won't care but for me lol bah! i already bought the cape pattern maybe i'll line it with fleece)

Oldest son is being a ninja turtle and the newest one is being a baby bat There isn't too many houses around here that hands out candy though. Lots have the lights out...and a lot of older kids have been going out dressed as...theirselves?! lol it seems like. That's no fun. If they don't want to dress up they shouldn't be going around.

Midnightly - have you considered maybe a 'capelet'. I did one for my daughter the year she was Belle. I used an Arctic fleece with the sheepskin lining, but it only went to the elbows and so most of the costume was still visible.

BTW beautiful work AND beautiful girl.

You did an amazing job on that dress. Here you never know what weather you're get. Have had to wear winter clothes to rain gear to having to take off stuff because you got to hot walking

i thought about that after i bought the fabric.. it'll end up being full length crushed velvet rose colour.. the velvet i found is this super pretty stretch with gathers in it and squins on it, i'll have to do pix when she wears it if it works out how i see it in my mind it's going to be beautiful..

i spent entirely too much time making that dress expecially since the skirt lace was an after thought and had to be sewn on by hand (same with the sleeve lace)
