Thread: Bio Oil for Acne Scars?
-
Sat, Oct 2nd, 2010, 10:00 PM #1
Has anyone here tried bio oil for acne scars on your face? I've read conflicting reviews about it working great and others about it breaking people out more. Just wondering if anyone here had any personal experience?

I tried...if you have oily skin don't do it! It gave me pimples when I had finally cleared my skin up
I just leave the scars alone and slowly they fade on their own...

I think you'd be better off using an oil-free moisturizer if you really want to try something (something with vitamin E in it- vitamin E helps scars/stretchmarks). It could help without clogging pores like an oil would, so there's no risk of it happening again. By gently massaging where your scars are with the moisturizer you can speed up the fading process by breaking up scar tissue.
I wouldn't be putting something oily on my face for acne scars personally with the risk of making it worse. However, I suppose if your skin is pretty good now and you never/rarely suffer from acne you could try it.
Facials might also help if the scars are stubborn. Good luck

Oh, mixed reviews once again!! lol I am hesitant to use it, I don't want to encourage more pimples as my face is nto agreeing with me lately....
Here's a different question, what makeup do you guys find best for your face? i've been using pur minerals, but right now I don't feel like it's giving me enough coverage.

I use Clinique Acne Solution foundtaion and I love it...its one of the best for my face. You can build it as much as you need, it doesn't feel oily and doesnt make me look like a oil fryer half way thru the day lol
I can only buy it here at Sephora bc Sears or The Bay don't sell it.
Here is the link to Sephora

Thanks Vee, I think I may try it. I just wish it was in a store somewhere so I can choose the right color!

Is it possible to find a sample?
Perhaps if you contact clinique they can send you some samples for the colour match before you buy.

Hmm, maybe I'll have to try that! I'm going to go to Sears tomorrow after work and see if they have it. If not maybe they can match me using another clinic foundation and then I can order offline

So my Sears does carry it, but won't have a lot of the shades in stock for another month or so. Because I'm so inpatient I decided to try the Super Balanced Makeup. Seems awesome so far, I'm really liking the lightweight feel and coverage!
