This is being shown again on cbcnn on this coming Saturday. Very informative. Very interesting.
    Bumping to remind everyone.

A friend of mine grew up in this town. She sometimes makes jewelery to sell to the town folk when she is visiting. She told me that previously she had to make extra large necklaces as even her largest sizes did not fit the ladies.

She is now back to making her regular sizes for the residents.

My ex's dad was type 2 diabetic but had it pretty much under control by eating, what I considered a holistic diet - nothing processed, no added sugar, low carbs, lots of veggies, meats, etc.
Did you see the pool? They flipped the B!tch!

    I'm going to South Korea!

I don't think it's too little, I never snack, it's a waste of eating (fruits/vegs are okay). But I also base how much I eat in a day on what I'm doing (Monday is receiving day at work, so I NEED to eat before, during and after, but every other day I don't need as many calories. I also don't have much of an appetite, that may be it, I need to remind myself to eat most days )

Would this mean I cannot drink beer? Beer is my life, how can I watch hockey and hang with friends without cracking open a cold beer?

I have lost 50 lbs since May 09. I actually lost it by Feb 10, and have kept it off.

    Here is what I did.

Bought an elliptical and use it. I workout for 30 mins a day 5 days a week and then lift weights 3x a week. My fiance also does this with me.

As for carbs? I'm Italian...like I can go without them.

Actually, for supper tonight I am making pasta, tomorrow we are going to a restaurant where we will both have pasta, saturday is lasagna and sunday night is canelloni (sat and sun we are going to either side of our families for supper and its my fiance's birthday today, so those meals are her bday supper she wanted).

I guess different things work for different people when it comes to weight loss.

I've lost weight over the past few months by simply cutting down on what I eat. I've never been able to eat breakfast but manage to get down a half cup of whole grain cereal with some milk...no lunch per se...maybe an apple, tea in the afternoon, then pretty much anything I want for dinner within reason. I found that I WANT less, esp with the weight falling off...and I do walk now, even if it's just around the block a few days a week.

Good luck to all of us dieters!!!!!!!

would drinking diet soda be ok with this plan? What beverages are ok to have? I love coffee, and will swap my sugar for sweetener, but I would like some guidance on this if anyone has any pointers.
