So how many people have already filed their taxes ? ..or will be doing them soon ?

Did you NETFILE / TELEFILE / MAIL ?

Did you do them yourself ?

Hired a professional ?

I was @ SDM last week shopping ..& some guy was already mailing his completed 2010 taxes in @ the post office in the SDM ..he looked pretty proud to have done them so soon & looked very happy

I usually telefile mine once telefile is open, I think Feb 15th. Usually my refund is direct deposited in 2 weeks.

I have done the "rough" copy of ours but as soon as T4's and RRSP statements arrive I'm going to confirm the numbers and hit send.

I will be buying Quicktax as soon as i get some extra cash(CTC) and as soon as we get hubbys T4's, it will be done. Doing this way I find we always have cash back in our pockets with a week. Weve dont Quicktax as long as weve been together, works for us!

We use U-file, but can't file yet - our T-4s don't get mailed out until Feburary 28th, and then there's RRSP contributions that get made up to the end of February, etc. It will be March before we file, but hopefully we'll get a nice refund, keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed anyhow.

I'd rather have a root canal with no anesthetic or perhaps a frontal lobotomy than have to file taxes. I hate them. They stress me out and make me want to puke every single year.

Most years I don't get around to filing them until September and that's only because by that point, I realize that if I don't file them, I won't get the GST/HST or whatever that thing is anymore. And I like that surprise money...so I suck it up and file them.

As soon as I get my T4 etc I will file them I'm young so I don't pay any taxes and I should be getting a good chunk of money back because of my textbooks

I haven't got my T4 yet but my BF's are all done for when mine comes in

I am waiting for 1 more T4, 1 more school form and 1 scholarship form. As soon as those are in I am getting them done since I'll be getting money back. Just not as much as I'd like

H&R Block screwed me last year - but I don't want to pay an obsceen amount of money like the year before ($130) to get a year of STUDENT taxes done, so I'll be going back to get them done for $29. I want to learn to do my own though, I have tried but student taxes are complicated.

If you guys are registered online for My Account on the Revenue Canada ( CRA ) website ..all the various T4 slips are already available online , so no need to wait for them in mail

Anyways you can't NETFILE or TELEFILE till Feb. 15 anyways .

Even if you mail it in ...they don't start processing the returns till Feb. 15 anyways .

Last year , I telefiled on Feb. 15 ..the very first day they opened ..guess what after 8 days ..YES ..8 days my refund was deposited ..this even included a Sat/Sun ..so basically we are talking about 6 business days ..WOW !!! that was fast

Ironically, my dad popped in my room this morning, telling me to get my stuff ready soon. All I need now is my T4 and I'm ready to go.
