Thankful I didn't need to see a doctor or go to the ER. I was trying to remove the plastic thing off a disposable razor. I pulled and fought with it. When the plastic cover finally came off, the darn razor slipped in my fingers and sliced my thumb. I bled for about an hour, kept piling on the gauze, adding pressure. Quite the mess to clean up (blood). I was praying I didn't need stitches. Luckily it stopped bleeding. Yay!

Thankful I ended up seeing a doctor yesterday. My thumb cut started bleeding again very early Sunday morning. Ending up needing two stitches.

Thankful that I made it to another year relatively sane...
So very thankful for the many blessings I do have in my life - especially my husband and son.
And I'm grateful for my 'other family' here on SC!

This past week and especially today has been full of good karma and pay it forward.
This past Saturday, I had a big task of clearing the driveway, after a heavy snow fall. My snow blower isn't working so it was all by hand. I was outside for a couple of hours, (needing to take frequent breaks because of my bad shoulder and wrist), and half done. My neighbour, across the street and one house down, approached me. He offered to finish the rest of my driveway when he was done his.
This morning I wrote him a note inside a Christmas card thanking him for his help and wishing both he and his wife a Happy New Year. I decided to walk up to Safeway around 7:15 am this morning and quietly stuck in their mail box.
So I'm at Safeway, bought more than planned and headed to Shoppers Drug Mart. I noticed they had Tide on sale. I picked it up and realized I had quite the load. Instead of walking home, I waited for the bus, which drops me off about a block and half from home. While waiting in the bus shack, I looked at the Tide and realized it wasn't HE. I didn't have time to return or exchange it. This older lady came into the shelter waiting for the bus, and started speaking with me. How Christmas is expensive, extra gifts for grandchildren, food etc. She blurted out she forgot to buy laundry detergent at Safeway and was quite upset as she had none left. I decided to give her mine, since I couldn't use it with my washer. She wouldn't take it at first but I insisted politely. Luckily she had a non HE washer. She gave me a hug. It felt good to do something nice.
I arrive at home, dump my groceries and head to the mail box to retrieve the newspaper. I notice a unmarked white envelope inside. I opened it.. my next door neighbour gave me a Christmas card, thanked me for use of my snow blower (when it did work lol), and a few tools he borrowed. Taped inside is a $25.00 gift card for Tim Hortons!

Thankful the power was out for only four hours last night - that was scary (and cold) enough.
So very grateful when the heat came back on!
