I am thankful for all the good and bad that has happened in my life. They helped shaped who I am today.
And I am thankful for being able to be me.

That our DD and her DH will be home from Toronto later today to collect their little guy, lol!! Oh, he's a wonderful, happy guy, but if I have to watch another Autobot/Decepticon show again I'll cry. And it's our 3rd time watching The Pirate Fairy (Tinkerbell movie)....oh, we've done crafts, dueled as pirates, raced cars, but lordy...little kids are for the young!!! Just young at heart doesn't cut it...

Hey... I agree with this.... I have always believed in experiencing the full spectrum of human emotions, and I have come to accept that this will mean that there will be periods where I have inexplicable crushing overwhelming sadness...
I have told myself that I am who I am, and I am choosing not to change, because on the other spectrum is that overwhelming ecstatic joy that I am privvy to too.
However, I have realized it is important to extend the kindness and compassion I've always talked about and believed in to myself, and when those dark periods descend, I will retreat and be kind to myself... And I tell myself "This too shall pass..." And I allow myself to feel sorry for myself for a couple of days...
This has worked wonders for me...
Our emotions are like waves... There will be high and low crests... when the high crest comes, just let it crash over and engulf you... don't resist or judge it...
Just watch it, and be with it... and that moment, just like the waves, will recede back, and calmness amidst sadness will surround you... And that moment, even in its sadness, can also be very beautiful, and it definitely can be a source of great creativity.Last edited by Woofy; Tue, Apr 1st, 2014 at 10:09 AM.

Today, I am thankful that my boy came into my life 4 years ago on this day. It has been a blast with Ethan, and my life and heart has changed completely with his presence in our lives.

I'm always very thankful for my wonderful husband, but he showed an extra kindness today by not only shopping for groceries, but taking the time to choose and fill a bag of books for me at the free exchange at the Co-op.
