What are you thankful for today?

I'm thankful that despite the pain I can still walk.Perhaps not as fast as I would like but just being able to do so!

Thankful last nights fire alarm was just a kid pulling it and NOT an actual fire. Plus I'm thankfull the fire department is only 1 block away

Quite thankful that after six long weeks my tendon has healed!

With all my impatient dashing around I was caught off guard driving home. The speed limit is 60 or 50?? who pays attention anymore? ( kidding ) , well I had to come to a full stop as well as the other cars behind me. Two waddling , comical Canada Geese were making their way down the road. They took their sweet time about heading towards the curb where they could be out of motorists way.
THAT one moment made my morning. Slow down...... or stop, and smell the roses ( well not yet cuz freaking winter is back ) but ykwim.
Did I mention they had a very seductive waddle? ha ha

Today I am especially grateful for Enercare. We made the decision to get both a HE furnace and a larger A/C unit installed. The A/C we had is 36 years old, so owes us nothing.
The medium efficiency furnace is well over 18 years, could have lasted longer I suppose BUT we've been paying to heat the outdoors for quite some time ( older homes ) . lol. Anyhow, the 2 workers who slaved for 8 hours here were above and beyond respectful of our home, efficient, cordial to speak with and did a bang up job! A new thermostat means we gotta learn new stuff ( ha ha ) .
The workers convinced us to relocate the A/C unit a few feet away from where it had been in the backyard because they showed us ALL the dryer lint that had been blowing inside the old unit for all these years!
Hoping all goes well now with both systems.

Fingers crossed that after the initial recovery period I get the promised 6 months to a year with a pain free back!

Fantastic news @walkonby ! Did you get a nerve ablation done by chance? (also referred to as rhyzolysis). If so, it just might change your life quite a bit

@crafter no not by chance but I initially went to my GP to see if Cortisone could help. He sent my x-rays and other info to them and then the Clinic called me.
The first consultation we discussed Cortisone but when we heard about this procedure I changed my mind on the injections and decided ablation could give me what I needed.
I do hope the results give me the maximum pain free window that they claim this does.

That's really good...I'm super happy you opted to try it. I really hope it helps...be objective about the results...you might still have some bad days but overall, ablations have been life changing for me.
I couldn't walk down my driveway and between ablations, my life is much more normal...I still factor in rest days though.

I've been getting them done twice a year for about 15 years. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help or if you have questions.

I'm actually in the middle of what I refer a set right now . I get both sides done at one time since we moved, I used to get one side done at a time. I go to Maple to get my procedures..much better than weekly injections of lidocaine.
I had the lumbar SI/L5 to L3 done two weeks ago, Neck 3 levels done this past week and I get the Sacroilliac Joints done next week.
