Daylight Saving Time 2018 ends this weekend

Good news this weekend -- we get an extra hour of sleep. The clocks go back an hour Saturday night as daylight saving officially ends at 2am Sunday morning, so you'll want to set your clocks back before you hit the hay Saturday night. Toronto Police are asking both drivers and pedestrians to be a bit more aware on city streets as with the days getting shorter comes more collisions involving pedestrians. 14 people were hit by cars in the city last night alone. The latest, an elderly man struck while trying to cross the street near the intersection of Finch and Kipling. He remains in hospital with life threatening injuries this morning.

Gardiner Expressway closed this weekend for fall maintenance

Drivers brace for some weekend traffic headaches. The busy Gardiner Expressway will be closed to traffic for its annual fall maintenance this weekend. The city of Toronto says both directions between the DVP and the 427 will be off-limits to traffic starting at 11pm tonight right through to 5am Monday. The highway closure was scheduled for last weekend but was postponed due to the weather, which I don't think is going to be any better, but it has to get done.

Leafs misfiring in another home loss

Devin Shore's goal early in the third period stood as the game-winner, and Anton Khudobin was stellar all night making 30 saves on route to the Stars 2-1 victory over the Maple Leafs. Patrick Marleau picked up his second goal of the season in the losing effort as the Leafs are now 1-4 in their last five games at Scotiabank Arena. Habs took a page out of the Leaf's playbook, scoring 3 goals in about 5 mins, with 2 goals being 2 secs apart, to beat OV & the Caps, 6-4.

Yes, I vaguely recall her and the song got banned by the BBC, due to its content! Which of course made it into a hit. Kind of a British cover of Leader Of The Pack style of song.
Didn’t know she went to a posh school with Lynn Redgrave and Camilla-Duchess of Cornwall until I researched her tonight; or that she said “No” to drugs and a date with Jagger.

Just think, this time tomorrow, it will be 6:50 am. Mornings will be brighter for a while, but it will get darker earlier. On the bright side, in 7 more weeks, it will be the shortest day of the year & days will start to get longer.
