    Snow ends for GTA, but extreme cold weather, wind chills continue

    An extreme cold warning remains in effect for Toronto. The city is in the midst of a deep freeze this morning with wind chill values in the minus 30s. Global News Meteorologist Mike Arsenault tells us this cold air will stick around through to tonight and into early tomorrow.

    Toronto saw its fair share of snow over the weekend but it has been all hands on deck for snow plows and salters. City staff confirms all main roads are clear this morning so there shouldn’t be any issues heading in for the morning commute.

    We do have a couple of bus cancellations in Durham and York Region but all schools remain open.

    Brampton, Vaughan votes tonight on allowing pot shops in the city

    There are meetings scheduled tonight across the GTA on whether to opt in or out of allowing retail cannabis stores to open up shop. They will be held in Brampton and Vaughan tonight. The province has given municipalities until tomorrow to decide if they'll participate.

    The phasing in of brick and mortar pot shops begins April 1.

    Leafs' slump continues with loss to Coyotes

    There hasn’t been much to be happy about this New Year for the Maple Leafs and Sunday’s 4-2 loss to the Arizona Coyotes only made things worse. This was Toronto’s fourth defeat in their last five games, putting them at 3-6-0 since Jan. 1.

    If the cold isn’t enough to make you feel depressed this morning, how about that Christmas holiday Visa statement. One or both of those are just a couple reasons why today is dubbed Blue Monday. A combination of post-Christmas finances, bad weather and the long wait for summer, combine to make 'Blue Monday.'

    According to researchers, on January 21 87% of the population feel the weather has a direct influence on their mood, while 61% of people will feel depressed on their way to work today.
    It's not that bad. At least the sun is out. How can you not feel better when the sun is out.
