Good morning, everyone.

A friend of mine is in a weird predicament. I think it`s inappropriate, any thoughts on how to deal with the situation gracefully? Friend`s nephew is getting married (the couple just bought a house and have been living together a few years, both have good jobs). The father of the groom is pressuring his siblings to contribute to the cost of the wedding. My friend`s finances won`t really be able to take such a hit. Family dynamics are going to be awkward for the next little while, to put it mildly.

When my friends were getting married when we were in our 20s, they all paid for their own weddings. The only one who didn`t was a friend of a friend who was very young when she got married (20) and hadn`t ever had a job (her parents were very overprotective). Is that no longer the case?

Had a rough night last night, first a wrong number woke me up at 2am, finally fell asleep at 3:30 only to be wakened by a car alarm going off at 4am, fell asleep just before 6am, then a cramp in my calf woke me up a few minutes later (cause Andi`s an idiot who didn`t have her glass of water before bedtime last night). Went back to sleep, and the brats were sweet enough to let me sleep til 9am.

Off to vacuum, the story of my life.

If you're going to this town, remember not everyone loves Marine Land, Casino's & going over the falls in a barrel. Are the wax museums still there? I think we just might be going there next week!

This afternoon (before the crazy thunderstorm moved in), Lily dog and I went out and sat on the benches overlooking our glamorous alleyway. A neighbour I`ve never spoken to (I recognized the car - we usually wave at him as he goes off to work in the mornings) drove past us, stopped and parked his car. He came over and said how happy he was to see us (didn`t mention that I was being lazy and sleeping in this week). He said that no matter how stressed he was about his day ahead or how cranky a mood he was in, when he sees Lily dog sitting beside me on the bench he can`t help but smile. And that we really make his day.

For him to take the time to come over and say that, just made me so very happy.

It`s funny, I never think of the impact we have on others, I sit out there cause Lily wants to watch people go by. Who knew that`s all it takes to brighten someone`s day.

British Weather

The Meteorological Office announced today that the climate in the UK should no longer be referred to as English Weather. Rather than offend a sizeable portion of the UK population, it will now be referred to as: 'Muslim Weather' (Partly Sunni, but mostly Shi'ite)

wow talk about a wicked t-storm this afternoon. the thunder was really loud & it poured buckets for a good 1/2 hour. the sky was really black. i am so glad that i am no longer working in the Hammer. it was very nice of the doorknob, to drive drunk into the bridge, yesterday. he's lucky he didn't kill someone. the westbound bridge is all open, so heading to St Kitts or the US of A is good. heading to TO, that's the big problem. they've been telling people to take the red hill extension to 403 east bound to get back on the QE after the bridge. Good Luck Aloha. enjoy your long weekend, back to the grind for me tomorrow.
