been leading up to this, subtle are't i?

we had my dad's 90th birthday party yesterday, at his gf's daughters and husbands,
why not one of his kids? interesting question, considering one drove up in some
    fancy 1950ish convertible.
dad had a great time, was happy to see all of us, and the darn alzheimer's was
almost nonexistent, so he ate a lot of terrific food (really if you are ever near newmarket,
the husband is a chef in the kitchen), lovely birthday cake, ride in whatever that car
is, and of course the best surprise was that his older brother flew in from nova scotia.
for fun the gf and i gave him some puzzles, one with ww2 posters, another about the 60's,
    and the 'fun' one

sorry not the best imagine, but geee rice a phoni, jail-o etc.
dad did have a laugh, and isn't easy finding a present sometimes

Kenrod mentioned a drive. There is a butter tart festival in Port Carling. If you leave soon, you'll be able to get a few hours of fun in.

I'm going to be Local Loocie today. I have to go the the cleaners, drug store & meet my neighbour for a coffee.

    Hooray it is Saturday!!

Hmm, that butter tart festival sounded good. Port Carling can be a zoo on weekends though. Never enough parking spots and more cars than people it seems.

We opted yesterday to go to Sarnia where we set up some chairs at Point Edward park (under the Bluewater Bridge) and watch the boats and ships go by on the St. Clair River and into Lake Huron. It was a good day.

    Good afternoon, everyone.

Since it's Sunday (I actually thought it was Monday, sigh), we're having a do-nothing, enjoy the weather kinda day. Brats are napping in the sunshine, panting, refusing to go where there is shade. Guess I'd better get my act together and make them some popsicles. I suspect I need a life.

The celebrations have begun for the Pan Am Games. Athletes have started arriving. I didn't have my camera ready when team Brazil came by with their big yellow/green bus. But I did get a shot of the Welcome Centre (my building is the short brick one above the Toronto 2015 sign).

Just to give an idea of how close I am to the Panamania fun, this shot is taken in the back alley - the white tents on the left are the Welcome Centre & Media Centre, the tent straight ahead is the cafeteria (which can feed 2000 athletes at once), the buildings on the left (with the George Brown logo at the top) are the Athletes Village, and the brick building on the right is where I live (although I face the opposite direction).

Might venture out later to see if there is adventure to be found.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
