Thread: Selling coupons on kijiji?
-

I came across an add on kijiji today, the person was selling fpcs for nestea 12 pack cases for 2.50 each, I was curious so i emailed to see how many she had, her reply said she had a ton, I was just curious what other think of this. Personally I would never sell my coupons for profit like that.

Must have been someone who won the iCoke Nestea FPCs last year...
I won, too - but we've made good use of ours (I am so addicted to the green tea!) for our family, extended family, and just giving some away.

I find it ridiculous that people want to charge for something they got for free.... same with trading.. people have ridiculous 'values'' for something they got for free

People do what they want...I don't see the big deal. Someone's going to get a case of Nestea for $2.50 and that's a great price. Both sides win.

I think there are so many different ways to look at it, and just as many opinions out there.
It's very cut and dry to say that selling stolen coupon inserts is a no-no because obviously, it's wrong to sell something that you were never entitled to in the first place.
In this case, the seller probably got the coupons for free and is now looking to profit from them. I don't see anything wrong with it because as far as I'm concerned, exchanging coupons for money isn't too big a deal provided both parties (buyer and seller) agree with the transaction, know what they're committing to, and follow through with it.
And I too do not think its wrong to sell something you got for free. If one was gifted something that they knew they would never have use for, selling would be a viable option. Of course they could give it to friends/family or donate it, but to each their own.

I'm growing tired of people knocking trading lately. Particularly since I'm finding trade values to be much more fair as of late, and have not been completely appalled by what I've seen people asking in quite some time. For a while it seemed out of hand, but that has certainly calmed down.
It's just something I'm really not appreciating, given that I'm finding people no longer want arms and legs for things. After giving up on trading altogether at one point last year, I have had nothing but pleasant trading experiences this year.
That being said, I would never buy coupons off of Ebay. To each his own, and if it's a good deal for you then go for it. It's just something I wouldn't do. I would rather trade within the SC community.

Nestea is on sale this week at Sobeys for $2.99 for the 12pk....or Zellers for 2/$5.00 why bother paying $2.50 for a FPC

buying fpc's is no different than trading g.c's for fpc's....although often a better trade value here ....

personally I do sell inserts on kijiji...for $0.50 an insert...now the only reason I do this is I have to drive 30 minutes in my big diesel farm truck to get these inserts as well as my own so I am only charging my time away from my 4 children and husband and diesel...I do what I have to do!!! Just remember, 2 people can look at the same thing and see it differently!!! Anyhoo, just my thoughts!

Everyone looks at things differently. Some may have just given them away, and some may actually want to sell them or get a fair trade. It's their property, I don't really see why it's anyones business what they are doing with them. It benefits them and their families as well as the person they're selling them to. Everyone gets something in the end.
What is the difference in selling them for real money than trading them for another coupon or a GC. I won a Netflix subscription last year and traded it for a $10 Pizza Pizza GC - same poop different pile.

If the transaction is between two consent informed people, I say to each his own. Trading coupons for coupons, gc's or fpc's are the same thing.

If the Kijiji seller doesn't drink Ice Tea, she should just get the free cases, put up a "Ice Tea" stand on the front lawn and sell them for .75c a piece and make a little $$$! With this HOT weather, she'd have no problem selling!
