    Hi,
has anyone ever read the ingredients on the Krave cereal box?

Chocolate liquor is listed as one of the main ingredients.

I did call Kellogg's to confirm that alcohol was not a part of my children's breakfast cereal. I was told that it was actually a syrup. whew!

Just thought I would share that info with all of you

If this is the wrong place to post please moved. thank you.

That ingredient is in a lot of chocolate things - it just means liquid chocolate.
Is the cereal good? Which one did you get?

I give my son his chocolate in bar form, lol!

Chocolate liquor (cocoa liquor) is pure chocolate in its liquid form. Like the cocoa beans (nibs) from which it is produced, it contains both cocoa solids and cocoa butter in roughly equal proportion.[1]
It is produced from cocoa beans that have been fermented, dried, roasted, and separated from their skins. The beans are ground into cocoa mass (cocoa paste). The mass is melted to become the liquor, and the liquor is cooled and molded into blocks known as unsweetened baking chocolate (bitter chocolate).
Chocolate liquor contains roughly 53 percent cocoa butter (fat), about 17 percent carbohydrates, 11 percent protein, 6 percent tannins, and 1.5 percent theobromine.[2]

The last ingredient in all of the Kelloggs cereal I own is BHT - so bad, but so hard to get away from! Even the bran flakes which you'd think are healthy have BHT

Rice crispies are as close to whole food as you can get, oatmeal is great too, but for school that would kind of hard. Special K makes some really good cereals now days too with berries and fruits added, they still have some sugars, like the oat cluster one, but the sugar comes from honey so its much better than "chilcrens" cereals that are coated in sugar and frosting. Mini Wheats is another good one, and is Cheerios. My kids love the apple cinnamon ones, again, they have some sugar but they are whole grain. Also, regardless of which cereal you choose, cereal should be eaten a few times a week, not daily in order to get a balanced diet over all.

I am a beekeeper and I feed my bees a granulated sugar and water mixture during times when necar is not abundant. Just so you know Honey is not better than sugar, however Honey has not been processed to death when it comes from 100% natural sources

I buy puffed cereals. They are cheap and have one ingredient in them eg.puffed rice cereal is made of rice and nothing else--shocker !
I send my kids fruit and veggies for snack sometimes a homemade muffin
Try to look for snacks with less then 5 ingredients.
I know that does not always work ..in the case of chips
