7 years ago Kevin's best friend in gr. 2 died suddenly, I just found out that his brother will be in the same kindergarten class as Kiera. I still tear up thinking about him and I will probably be a blubbering idiot when I see them go to class together.

Hm... a former work colleague of mine had two sons, both who had a genetic disorder and were several years apart in age. I think they each died around 11 or 12 - I cannot remember what it was called... They also had a daughter, but she was fine.

Just watched an interesting documentary on a young priest who was a former martial arts champion. He & his teammates were at a tournament in the Phillippines & were handing out candy to children in a very poor neighbourhood when everything changed. He went back home to the US & decided to become a priest so he could help others. In addition to the martial arts, he has a talent for cooking & started cooking for his parishioners. He is now travelling & trying to encourage people to have a "mini Thanksgiving" every day of the year & spend more time with family.
Such a nice story, when all you ever hear about are the miserable things in the world.

If anyone has a few prayers to spare, my friend's family could sure use them.
Her 25yr old cousin & his friends went away for the long weekend. Apparently, they got into an argument with some other fellows at a bar (don't have any details what all happened). The matter was dropped, they were on their way back to their cabin, when they got jumped. My friend's cousin was beaten so badly, that he's on life support, brain dead, they're just waiting for his Mom to come to the hospital.
What on earth could be *that* important that you would kill someone over it?
I`ve got so many different emotions running through me now. Not sure whether to be mad or shocked or sad or everything in between.
