I'd move the clothes line closer to his house and put out some granny panties! see how he likes that
.
If he says he's going to call the by law office just tell him to go ahead. They won't do a thing.

Maybe he'd enjoy a peek at my "rat room" laundry - the nosey old goat!

I was thrilled when Ontario repealed the by-laws that wouldn't let us hang up laundry!

I would call bylaw and check it out, it always good to have the facts. Hanging laundry to dry is really a great way to save energy and the smell is the best : )
What a rude neighbor going to call the laundry police on you.

There's no need to check local by-laws in Ontario. The government repealed these by-laws!

If he's sick and home from work, why is he over at your house complaining about your laundry in YOUR backyard.
Go to bed crazy man and mind your business.

Why on earth would it be such big deal?!?! It should be encouraged! It saves energy and such.... People are crazy and have nothing better to do that complain!

Tell him to call the city and then you tell him and the city you're calling the local news. With the push for green living the press would LOVE to get there hands on the neighbour and any city that doesn't allow this.
I live in Northern Ontario and i have a clothes line and grew up with my mom always using a clothes line. A happy childhood memory of my mom putting our bed linen out on hot summer days.....
Now she's gone and i still remember simple things like that....
I think saving energy is something everyone should do....

wow i can understand him trying to "maintain the neighborhood look" but that would be more of a request than " you cant hang your laundry!"

Accuse him of being a peeping tom. Checking out your property and who knows what else.
