Talked to the manager at Shelbourne today about the coupon policy.

He said yes to online printed and coded except free.

Seems head office sent out misleading documents originally that confused all stores but that has now been corrected.

Hmmm my coupon is for Purex TP... I guess everyone received different coupons.

I just got mine today... mine is for Royale TP!

I got a total of 8 coupons.

I just got a weird phone call. In an automated voice it said
" You have just won 100,000 airmiles, Press 1 to collect".

I just held onto the phone and wondered about this and thought... no way would an automated voice be used to notify me of a win. And not ask for the winner by name. So watch out folks. The press 1 is a way of using your number to call long distance for them and you will be charged... I believe..

Air Miles states on their website that they will never call you like that if you win something. So it was definately a scam of some kind.

This is a very common fraud phone call. (Airmiles is just one of the example). Sometimes, it's a bank.

Correct, never press 1. Just hang-up.

Alright, here's one for your opinions:

I've got a flight in the New Year that I can take on AirMiles and just pay the taxes.

This would save $2,000 for 2 people on the cheapest Canadian flyer but require around 9,000AMs.

The trip is in the US.

This same flight is over $800 cheaper flying out of Seattle but would require travelling from Victoria.

Is it better to pay with AirMiles or cash (saving the 9,000 Airmiles for later) flying out of Seattle instead?

Ohhh I'm interested in what others say as I had the same dilemma in Feb. It would have cost us around $1850 for 2 people to fly to LA or 8000 airmiles and we choose to use airmiles. I was very sad to see the airmiles go bye bye though but I didn't want to pay that much oop.

Did you compare using Air Miles to fly out of Seattle? If anything the taxes would be a lot less.

To go to Seattle you have to figure in Ferry costs, Parking your car in Seattle for the trip, gas etc... So add up all the additional expenses and subtract it from the $800 and see if you still think it is worth it...

Also will be able to get 150 AM for Acucheck! Is there a deal for 2 boxes or only one? ( my young daughter has type 1 diabetes).. this is our main source of AM..
