Purdee, to get the 100 airmiles you need to spend $100 dollars after the coupons and taxes.

And any environmental fees like bottle deposits. Don't want to miss out due to bottle deposit.

Extra cash here - earn by searching/watching videos/doing offers on swagbucks - it's a legit site and pays reliably.

Already do swagbucks?try Instagc or pm me for invite codes for Gifthulk.

Many unadvertised AM specials at Shelbourne & McKenzie including Quaker bars B2G20 but at $3.99 & $4.29 each.

Also Grissol crackers. Lots of coupons on those out there.

    Safeway brandlight bulbs, etc.

What rewards would you redeem for that value air miles at 14 cents each? I looked at a bunch of different stuff to redeem and got anywhere from 7-12 cents each. Was looking for a good deal on the Wii fit plus with balance board, it looks a lot better to redeem for $100 HBC card (800 miles) than to order it direct from airmiles (1250 miles). I didn't find any decent rewards that value them at more than 12 cents/mile though

Generally gift cards give you a better rate of return than product rewards.

For example Boston Pizza Gift Card would be valued at 12.7 cents per AirMile. Chapters is 13.5 cents

Yeah, the only gift card I would actually use though is probably the one for Shell gas... we need more, or better, sponsors around here!

The $0.14 is based on the average of all gift cards/certificates and should be treated as a starting point.

As I recall GAP cards are above $0.14 and could be used when they have their special days.

If you exchange for flights you're likely to come in above $0.20/AM.

2 for 1 Movie tickets are above $0.30

Also, some of these have higher values if you buy larger amounts:

    Starbucks------------- 10--- 85----11.7647
Works out to $0.125 if you buy a $25 card.

Gap is $0.1369 on the $50 card.

I gather I was thinking of the Roots card @ $0.16.

My local food bank doesn't provide a tax receipt. Does anyone know which charity/organization will?

    Hor,

    Sorry good buddy.

Full credit for the list goes to you (although I did the same thing myself many moons ago on the articles I wrote for SC for the Blog. I just couldn't remember where to find them)! ;-)

Google "Food banks" in your area to see what comes up.

First of all, thank you to this thread and OB. Yesterday, I went to SW and spent $101.19 (incl. $0.19 tax) and got 395 airmiles. I bought 100 cans of Heinz beans for donation and other groceries for my family. Heinz beans offer buy 10 get 25AM. And I also used the spend $100 get 100AM. I'm so excited. I've been collecting airmiles for about 4 years now and only have just over 900 airmiles. This one shopping trip alone made me a lot of airmiles.
Here's my question: when I went home I noticed the cashier only rung in 99 cans of beans hence my total AM earned was 225. If she had rung it in as 100 cans of beans then I'd have 250AM. Because it's buy 10 get 25AM. Should I go back to the store, pay the $1 and get 25AM?
Another question: I was planning to save the AMs for travel but is it better to get Shell gift cards? I always need gas. And don't you also get AM when you purchase gas at Shell? So you'd get some AM back, right?
    Thank you in advance.
