I don't think they meant they would do it every week for fun. I think they meant they would try PMing and such again and if Zellers refused again, they would leave the cart, as they should. I totally agree with that. And I don't think the store should ban them for doing that when their the ones that make up stupid PM rules.

I also had no problem PMing SDM's two day specials. Went back in a second time too and got more at a different check out.

that sucks, where i work we price match too, but i dont think that most people know or care, and we dont have that much stuff to match, since we dont have such a big selection of everything, and most items are inferiour quality, so its bot identical, etc, but when they do, we have no problem.

I always find PM'g very stressful. I've never been turned down yet, but I always try to smile and be nice to the cashier who has to do the extra effort to ring in the purchase.

People leaving full carts at the till creates a lot of extra, unwarranted work for store
staff who already have a full schedule of things they MUST get done........
people wonder why prices keep increasing.......this is part of the reason.....

Good for you!!!!! They want to change their policies from week to week or on a whim, fine, we'll play that game
LOL!!!!!!!!!!! I love how you go to another cashier or wait a few days and policies have changed. Good grief, do they think we are that stupid??? Nope, we're SC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an unfortunate situation. Instead of trying week after week, I would email head office for their policy. Then you can whip it out when someone tries to make up rules.

I assume your SDM is average size, they're small stores and a 100 cans may not seem a lot if you shop at larger stores that can store skids in a backroom, but SDM does not, they have very limited space, so to ensure that they have sufficient stock to meet the needs of most customers they can and do limit quantities. Just because they didn't specify it, doesn't mean that 100 of one item isn't unreasonable. IMHO.

Im sure if head office (of ANY store) knew a customer that was willing to spend money left a cart full of product and walked out, they would hit the roof!!
I would definately email and find out what they say for future purchases. Some cashiers act like they make the rules, some truly dont know them. Maybe HO would educate them. Great for you for leaving the cart there. I probably would have done the same, no need to shop there if you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Head office AND the local store mangers don't like it when customers come in and "clear the shelves".....
....(leaving them with disgruntled customers the rest of the week, ie. the ones who only wanted to grab 2 or 3 cans of cat food; SDM being foremost a drugstore & not a petstore- they offer a variety of products as a convenience to their customers.)
That's why they have the "right to limit quantity" clause...to pre-empt the "shelf-clearing."
Headoffice DOES like it when customers ask their store mangers to please order in a caseload (or 5) of product, and promises to be there on day of delivery...(you usually pre-pay)..this way they have met your needs AND the needs of the rest of their customers.
SDM gets deliveries of perishables every other day or in some cases daily, and regular merchandise generally, twice a week. Had you ordered (Aand prepaid) on day #1 of the sale, you would have had 100 cans @3/99
about 3-4 days later.

I personally find PM kinda stressful too. It most certainly wouldn't be worth the trouble, but when when it comes to saving money, it IS worth the hassel!!!!

I completly avoid zellers here in vernon, all I have ever had is rudeness (well except for one time, when the cashier got excited about my coupons and so I gave her the url to smartcanucks... She was bursting with happiness.)
ShoPPinG caRt dAnCe! (I personally wouldn't bother, but hey... either you'll get what you want, get banned from the store, or your doing the shopping cart thing could be ignored.)
I hope they allow PMing at your location in the future!

yup, I would return the items. (I'm a grownup - I don't do "tantrums")
When I PM, I always head to customer service. If they decline to PM, or decline my coupons, I politely decline to buy those items saying I'll return them back to the shelf. They always decline, saying they'll take care of it themselves.
