Hello everybody!
Australia participates in SCOP too! and I managed to score not one but 2 SCOPs, and 2 different stores! the first one was on cereal... the have the really annoying "multibuy" where you actually have to buy 2 for the sale price... anyway... this granola type creal was on sale for buy 2 for $6.50, or $3.99 each! she scanned them in, they scanned at the regular price... I told her.... she gets a co-worker to check the price, and she autmatically gives me one for free and the second one for $3.25!!!
The second SCOP was for my Mum actually.... she bought her groceries... and DH handed me the receipt to look over it... I said to Mum " holy crap you paid $1.10 for a can of coke?" she said it was supposed to be $1.... so off I go down the aisle to check the price tag.... and sure enough says $1!! so I go to customer service tell the girl working.... I show her where we got the can from.... and she automatically does the refund! woot!!!
SCOP is so easy down here!!! I used to always get free chocolate at Big W ( very similar to walmart) back when I lived here!
I guess this almost makes up for the fact theres no coupons and Ive been paying for everything full price for the past 3 weeks!
Just have to say how lucky we are to have coupons for things, especially health and beauty!!! shampoo etc etc is so expensive here!!! for example... the st ives face scrub is roughly $9 here( exchange rate is pretty much on par right now) and back in NB I think the regular price is $3.95 or something insanely cheap!! okay now Im rambling!!

My sis just got back from a year over there, and she is planning to head back over in February and she is bringing a whole box of makeup & perfume for other Canadians over there, because they are so over priced (mascara is like $20!!!) So needless to say I've started helping her out with LD shops
But she did comment that cashiers over there tend to be little bit more educated with regards to SCOP
YAY!!! For getting deals halfway across the world!!
PS. Have you figured out how to cram a Koala into your suitcase?

awesome!
Hope you had a great holiday. I tried being a bargain shopper when I was on holidays but it seems the minute I leave my own city, I'm totally out of my element and can't find a deal to save my life. LOL.

Nice!
I've been there and yup.... things are so ridiculously expensive there compared to here that you take any deals and scop whenever you can.Last edited by travelgeek; Thu, Sep 23rd, 2010 at 09:03 PM.

Another random price comparison.... the Kong toys for dogs.... Ive been telling Mum she could get one for her dog... They are $12 I think at walmart in canada.... and we have a look here( in Australia).... couldnt even find them in any "regular" store.... eg supermarket, or target or kmart.... only in the pet stores for $40 each!!!!! holy cow!!! if i had of know I would have brought one over for her! oh well next time!!

WTG
It sounds like you will have to send your mom care packages of stuff that she can't get at a decent deal there. It would more than pay for the shipping with prices like that.
