I read an article about getting enough vitamin D & C.Those are obvious. One person said they put a small glass of vinegar in every room in the winter and nobody got sick.

I think I'll be trying that one. This thread is currently associated with: N/AArtificial Colors & Flavours in almost all our food... You should be concerned.Everyone should watch this...

Eh, no matter what I try I find I get sick sooner or later.
But to prevent the start of a cold from getting worse I drink orange juice and other fruit juices (vitamin C) and for a sore throat, a spoon of honey before bed and some in tea earlier (honey has antibacterial properties). If I don't have honey or my throats a little worse, then I have an actibacterial lozenge or Neocitran before bed to help. It doesn't always work, sometimes it's too late- but I find it usually helps or "postpones" the cold until it kicks in a couple weeks later on a cold or rainy day.
Too bad you can't give honey to young children because there can be some botulism, which is harmless to most children over 6 I believe, maybe earlier. I imagine it would really help out kids who are always sick!
As for the vinegar- ick. Imagine that stench
But whatever works for you!

Onions and garlic with almost every meal - basically continuing to eat really healthy - maybe do more on the cruciferous veggies side. Try to up the fruit, for sure!
Even when it's -40, have fresh air flow somewhere in the house!
There is no magic bullet! I have extremely low immunity because of my chronic health conditions and someone only has to say s/he is sick and I catch it, lol! Nah, it's not that bad, but I do have to be quite careful...

Wash your hands often. I work with children in schools and try to wash my hands at every break. Also, taking Zinc when a cold starts. We have the window open in our bedroom most nights - (it has yet to get past -20 in the town where I currently live) Natalka - I couldn't live with -40! Since I have asthma - wearing a scarf over my nose and mouth in very cold weather. I have regularly taken the flu shots and haven't had a really bad bought for a few years. (Touch wood)

if you get sick, gargle with warm salty water. it tastes gross but after a few times it will work really well for a sore throat, stuffy nose.
also ginger knocks the cold right out of you. you eat it raw. I take a 1 inch piece and put it thru the juicer with apples and carrots, enough to fill a big glass. it's spicy when you drink it, so i drink it fast. it's not like pepper spicy though, it doesn't linger. the burn goes away after a few seconds and you don't feel it anymore. In 2020 I had 100 FREE Grocery pickups! Eating healthy, staying active. Other than my body breaking down during stressful times, I'm relatively healthy and rarely get sick, or just sleep it off in a night.
When I do get sick, I very rarely take medicine! I'll let my body work it out for a few days and it generally gets it done.

I can't really amswer that since I am sick currently but normally:
I wash my hands
Avoid touching my face, nose, etc before washing
If I do feel it coming on I eat TONS of raw garlic
and "gargle" with either Brandy or Congac(drinking it of course

I do all of the above plus if you have a sore throat squeeze a whole cut in half lemon into a large cup, add the lemon and 1 heaping tbsp. of honey. Fill with water then heat this up in the Microwave. Sip the whole cupful. Works like a charm. Can dance around if you have the energy.
