Today I spent $90 for our family of 4( 2 adults, 2 girls 14 and 10) for one week of groceries as it was 10% Tuesday. Usually I think it would be between $100-$125 per week for us.

We are two people and a toddler and I spend between 150-200 every two weeks. My groceries are never more than 150 every two weeks but I'm adding 50$ for the random stuff DF sometimes goes out to get.
That amount includes a bit of meat, I don't buy tons and stockpile items. Now I'm even stocking on diapers with the 10$ buying about 1 box per week or two.

Averaging about $300 for 3 adults (2 being over-eaters). We don't currently meal plan, but I'm hoping that will change soon, as most of the grocery money is spent on junk food that we absolutely don't need and very basic necessities. I think if we properly meal planned, we'd spend less and have more. Plus we'd all be eating properly too!

We have been spending around $250 per month for 2. Hoping to reduce this amount to $200 or less per month in 2014.

We don't buy too much junk food, and we grow a lot of our own vegetables, but it seems to cost more every year for meat and dairy. Anybody got any good tips for how to save on these items?

Find the stores in your area that regularly mark down meat, yogurt and milk( often marked by pink or red stickers)-the meat can be frozen and often the dairy-especially yogurt-lasts quite a long time after the best before date. I have about 4 stores relatively close by that mark these items down and honestly I could easily decide to only buy meat and yogurt when marked down-of course if you are particular about brand or cut this may not work but there is often something at 30-50% off and even more if you have a Safeway or Sobeys close by that gives 10% off on the first Tues of the month as well. I usually find by going close to opening time in the morning I can find some deals.

Our RCSS is awesome for marking down bread etc. I never pay full price for bread and love it when it's on sale and then on the reduced rack days before it expires

Great advice. Yes, I do buy mark down meat when I spot it and it is a good deal. But lately I have a hard time finding anything for less than $6-7 per kilo, even after mark down. Even chicken and hamburger you rarely see great deals on anymore.

But on the other hand, I just bought two turkeys for 97cents per pound, cut them up and put them in the freezer. That's about the best deal on any kind of meat that I've seen for several months.

I did not know that Sobey's had a monthly discount day. I will have to check into that. Thank you.

I just did the totals for Dec 2013...groceries came in at $222.14!! We moved mid December and we were eating from the freezer like mad because I went from two large freezers to one smaller one That, and we are much more conscious of what we eat in terms of healthy eating. Processed foods are sooo much more expensive than whole foods and so I try and stick to the outside aisles of the grocery store.

Mumof5Boys-you do an amazing job on your groceries. I spend about $130 per week for four people currently.

Oh my...I will start baking bread/buns again. I've slacked off in that department due to our move and our grocery costs for January proves it. Total for January 2014 is $508.67....yikes!

We spend about $85 a week on groceries etc a week. Only two of us now. My biggest issue seems to be on quantity..adjusting from cooking for 4 down to 2. I still find myself cooking huge portions that we really don't need.
I'm hoping to reduce down to $40-$50 a week but think I need to build a good stash during sales to achieve this.
On a good note, we rarely order take out anymore which is noticeable in our budget at the end of the month
